active monitors will usually have the best amplifier for the speakers., so if you dont mind the price difference i'd go for active.,

I'll go for ACTIVE !!! |

Just because the amp is inside the monitor doesn't mean it's any good.
I'd search for Yuli's post on this, but I'm too lazy

I personally prefer non amplified monitors, and then to pick a "Class A" amp for them, that will probably will be the best decision since now way the amp installed in the amplified kind is Class A or close to it.
Having said that, mind u that Class A amps are truly expensive and Dynaudio is a high quality brand that doesn't come to copy others ( Yo, Behringer!!! ) but comes with original and quality product, so there is a big chance their amps will do the job just fine
BTW
I have worked with my passive Dynaudios with Crown DC 300A Series II studio amp.. And I must say WOW. I got it from someone that doesnt use it and doesnt need it at the mo, and for more than a year now I try to buy it from him and he wouldn't sell
What a bummer A man with a "master plan" is often a woman |

Ive active monitors and would buy them again.
Connect them and all is fine, no search for the right amp.
Working fine for me
