i often have name for my track in the beginning, sometimes not, but it will often not be hard to give it one...

it spose its the same as choosing the artwork for psy albums complations, deep metaphors that only open minds could/can understand... for example Darker Side Of The Sun album, would resemble the darker side of sound, mind, vision, sanity, where as the oppisite would be, Om.

never loose your imagination

When I start a track it's always like "Psytrance #003 C". If (while I'm still producing) I can come up with a name which fits with the mood of it, I like to keep it, even if it doesn't matches the meaning of the sampled movie vocals I later add. Creating titles, from added vocals are the easiest btw.
Honestly, I'm pretty bad at naming tracks. I've got a friend who can come up with dozens of funny titles in about 0,0001 secs, for his projects, good for him.

Btw, any of you tried to just come up with a random name, that sounds nice, and with that in mind start to produce a completly new track? Never tried it yet, but it could be interesting...

Usually I try to think of what have been going on in my mind the day I start the track, and try to summon that up in a word or small sentence.           www.xun.dk / myspace.com/xundk

I often have a mission or a thought or a mood.. this will be my project name... not necessary the track name.. but sometimes it works as track name aswell

i like to use the name of a lessond learn for example.. if i work in depth with how a chours works i might name the track Chorus Crazy or Chorus Circus or what ever

Usually when I first name a track, I'll name it something completely random like "Pancakes". As the track evolves, I begin to think of a story, scene, or image that the music is playing to. After I get this image in my head, I'll name it accordingly.

Ive found it never wise to use the whole 145-008-whatever deal. It gets confusing when you are looking for that loop you made a month ago.

Same here haha, as soon as i start a track ill save it with the first thing that pops into my head, which does mean that my recent items is full of random words, but i find it easier to associate a random word with a project than some sort of code. I usually save a few versions of each project so if the project reaches later stages ill name that version with something from the vocal sample, or something related to the emotion that track conveys. I quite enjoy naming tracks but in the end i only really do it as a way of recognizing which tracks ive shared with people etc.
