ok dood,im gonna sort this 4 ya once and for all!!!
if youre using a mac u gonna need to get audio units(mac term 4 vst)
if youre using wintel machine u gonna need vst's!

now when u download say from kvr the plugin will generaly have an instaler wich will place it in it's correct hiraichi on youre computer,if it doesnt have an installer there should be a text doc. telling u where it belong(vst/component/rtas)folder etc.
now when u load youre host sequencer u have to load the plugin as a virtual instrument,if u read up on the particular sequence it will no doupt tell you!!

so there are heaps of diferent plugins that u can use
1-instruments,4 making actual sounds eg.bass, lead etc
2-efx-4 processing youre instrument,eg delays,reverb,pitching etc
3-tools-4 refining youre sounds,eg.eq,compressa,limiter
4-sampler instrument,4 loading all youre favourite drum sounds 2 make youre tracks drum parts,eg kik, samre hi hats

mate im shure this should be enough info to get you in the right direction 4 now, like most people here i started just like u,wanting to no evrything at once, the driving pasion to be a producer etc,but it takes many years of hard work and reading, there are so many diferent facets of being a producer and sadly 4 you most come from trial and error, and years of experiance,u could have astrix tutoring u and it srill would take very long time, youre ears have to be trained to hear the right way,and youre emotions have to be put on a chain as they will crush u many times when producing gets the betta of you!!
relax and just take things slow, have realistic expectations of youre progress and do lots of research!!
good luck

Vst basics, Lesson n1

vst stands for virtual studio technology
understanding a bit of an hardware studio enviroment, will help understand VSTs (and the *pffs*AUs*pfss*)

you want to play or sequence an instrument that is out of your range, you'll than need a way to make your ideas get the instrument.
the protocol used is called midi (that stands for something ...).
midi its a standard language used to comunicate between machines... midi compatible machines, are human compatible too, this means that for a percentage of the infinite movements of a human on a machine, there is a correspondent midi message... example, for a pressed key..
the midi keyboard will generate a noteon message "x"(depending the one pressed) of "y" amount that will correspond to the strenght you've hitted

this is a trial version, register for full access to the Vst Basics

if your willing to do the hardwork how come you asking everyone on here to spoonfeed you everything ? type "vst" into google and that should answer most of your questions.

goodluck!

Hi there.

Some VST plugins are used to alter an existing sound. There are reverb plugins, flangers, spiralizers, harmonizers, metalizers or what have you.

The other kind of VST plugins are used as limitizers, compressors or for mastering.

And then there are VSt instruments where you have a keyboard. You push a key on your MIDI controller and that triggers a sound in the plugin.

You need a piece of software that supports VST plugins.
Experiment.
Practice.
Peace.

@illusions- Bad mood eh Mr.B?!

Anyway, Djatatri, Please have a look at this link, it pretty much answers all your questions.

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/7700/forum/2

Also, get Fruity Loops, do the Tutorials that come with it and you will get a very good idea as to how things work. Atleast this is what i think.
They have some flash tutorials(comes with the software and on their website) and if i could understand those tutorials trust me, anyone on this planet can understand them!!
Read the manual and do those tutorials, you'll be in a much better position to ask questions and actually make some progress.

I was the same, asking millions of questions but then unless you work on something there is no point in asking these questions.

Just go do it!!!! Its great fun and very interesting at the same time.

Enjoy and Good Luck!!           Rather than feeling that you're about to have the rug pulled from under you, let me teach you how to dance on a flying carpet

@ illusions br i m asking u guys to spoon feed, coz i knw this is the place where i will get the right answers.

when u put vst in google first things it comes is the web defination of vst,
it also mention how, when, what types of vst every thing u name it.....

but its so much knowledge but out of which i just need some thing which would be how to work with vst.

and only pro like urself and many other undergrnd artists can tell me.

there are teachers every where but teachers frm isra are not every where.

well i will get fruity loop br and i will see what i can do .....           Dj Atatri
