hi
i was wondering how you guys go about using the sidechain compressor ...
what i wanna do is...
have all leads sent to one main audio track. now i want that track to have a side chain compressor so when the beat kicks back in (post mixer??) it makes all the leads pump at the same time...but the thing is i want to have a ghost channel for fake kicks that will do that and at the same time not have any kicks actually audible...THEN...i want to actually do all of this live not actually bounce to audio but do it live...so the set up i need is a ducking effect that when the fake kick is muted it doesnt do anything but when unmuted not actually play a sound from the channel but duck all my leads and make them pump

Insert the Compressor in that Audio Channel ,activate the sidechain..create à Second Kick Track ,activate à send (prefader),turn down the fader and send the send(lol) to the sidechain Input..should work like that i Hope .. ;

yes.
create a second kick track, mute it, no volume.
sidechain the sound you want with that signal. |

zork i think u got wat im saying what do u mean activate send (prefader turn down the fader and send the send?
