The funniest part is when people who listen to 180bpm atonal jacynth music rage about dubstep

There is a lot of bad dubstep.

There is a lot of bad psytrance.

However - even though 95% of what I hear in psytrance is boring that 5% is super magical and amazing and does things to my brain and my ass that are phenomenal.

I have not heard the 5% dubstep that makes digging through the rest of it worth it.

i agree with this, except that i did find those 5% that make it totally worth it. i mean, it's such a huge genre with so many different flavors, i think people are really doing a disservice to themselves to dismiss the whole thing after hearing some Skrillex tunes or whatever.

you have dubstep that's closer to dub techno:

you have gritty dubstep that's closer to drum'n'bass and breakcore:

that whole album is pretty amazing.

then you have dubstep with very heavy dub and reggae vibe:

then you have really laid-back minimal kind of dubstep. hell, even having vocals doesn't necessarily mean it's poppy and cheesy:

this whole Kryptic Minds album is brilliant.

so it's not all robo-butt-fucking noise and i think absolutely worth digging into. though, i honestly don't mind *some* bro-steppish kind of stuff in small dozes. probably because the novelty still hasn't worn off on me, but some Liquid Stranger or Excizion can be fun. for about 20 minutes.

anyway, some more gems:

I heard that thing lately, wasn't impressive. Not my taste.           I understand change is the only constant but I'd rather stick to variables.

I mean no disrespect, but if that's the 5% dubstep then I'm glad I haven't wasted my time digging - because all of that sounds pretty mediocre to me.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

IMO I couldn't care less about dubstep, just like I couldn't care less about pop electro house. But hearig dubstep played at outdoor psy gigs is a joke.

It like hearing rap/RnB at a heavy metal gig. It just does not f#cking belong.

Just my $0.02.

none taken. if it doesn't move you, it doesn't move you. taste and all that.

i also disagree about it (or other kinds of music) not belonging at psy parties. i think it's good to provide alternatives so people can keep their ears fresh. isn't it why we typically have at least chill stages? there have been a few times where i've randomly stumbled onto a dubstep set being played at a chill stage that was more psychedelic than whatever shit was being played at the main stage.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

This is for me perfect dubstep, with intelligent rythms, deep, & no shitty glitches & wobbles.

Even Trancy to some taste

as with all modern bass music. Please don't listen to this with your crappy earphones or Pc speakers.

Low frequencies are the main point !
