I really dig dubstep...... But I always digged many electronic styles....
I think the close minded who listen only to psytrance and psy chill wont like dubstep a lot...

hehe it's funny cause it seems like everyone on this thread has a different idea of just what dubstep is  IMO it is more proof on just how broad a genre it really is.
Anyways, my initial topic wasn't as much on whether psytrancers like dubstep but rather wondering whether dubstep will surpass psytrance in popularity in the new generation underground culture... more or less the same way that electronic music overtook rock music a few decades ago. And this has nothing to do with whether the "old" generation approves of it or not, it just happens. I doubt that most oldschool rockers approved with trance when it started taking over the scene in the late 80s...

For sure i think dubstep will get much bigger than it is already...
But i think psytrance has a leading role and will probably keep it for quite some time...
mostly cause its so open for fusion and its more wide in sub genres...
The best thing would be if we got it all at a party... one big music feast! mix it up

& dubstep has a varitety of styles since its almost a decade of evolving.i like digital mystikz also but its defo a mater of taste.1 big party of original underground psychedelia would be tha bomb.

The new psytrance ? Really doubt it, maybe in some countries where breaks are popular.. And for sure, in the chill area it can be nice..
But it lacks the strong element of dance for me, the beat with the breakbeats for me is good to listen but not so interesting to dance and really freak out to..

there's really good dubstep, there's very generic and predictable dubstep. just like any other genre.
for me, Nagual Sound Experiment is probably the best dubstep i've heard. very musical and has some psychedelic influences. i also really dig goth trad and ital tek.
it took a while for dubstep to grow on me. i thought it was pretty boring initially. but hearing some good tunes on a big stereo and in a room full of sweaty people going off on it did it for me. it's actually pretty fun to dance to this shit.

I really like some of the dubstep that I've heard. I've spent a fair bit of time listening to Dubstep.fm
But I find dubstep parties a little too gangster for me.

its a pity in germany dubstep is like totaly dead.I always had great parties in other country - so seldom in germany.The parties where I was was so phreaky to tha fuellst full of phreaks big smiles and really nice positive energy and lovely chiquitas.No one gangster maybe psyco gangsters or ganja terrorists but thats all,absolutely love and no violance.Lots of better than so many of that dumb progressive outruns.But a great underground psyco disco is still the best for me.

And they had the nerve to delete my 'psy trance is dead' thread and shite like this carries on - carry on
And I will venture to say that dubstep was spawned by fucking retards that downloaded a DAW off a torrent site and culdn't fucking work it out - bit like OOOD
Press button A - yay, that makes a sound. Press B - omfg - that makes a noise too - press A and B and u get dubstep.
