Didn't tired it, I guess as far as multiband distortion goes top 3 picks around here would be something like: Steinberg Quadrafuzz, FabFilter Saturn and Ohm Force Ohmicide.

Depends, right now I can't afford any of them, so pretty much anything is kewl.

But if money isn't object and I should pick one, I would go with Saturn, it's most versatile, but Quadrafuzz is great too concerning many folks have it for free in Cubase, so if I were using Cubase, Quadrafuzz would be my first&last choice for sure, especially v2 in Cubase 8.
