happy to announce the arrival of our two latest releases: deep fried dub’s sophomore, ‘slow cooked’ and the final part of our compilation series, ‘the next mission’.

coming 6 long years after their debut dropped, the deep fried dub boys have returned with a veritable smorgasbord of dub soaked delights, peppered with antipodean flavour.

marinated in bass culture, ‘slow cooked’ features a sizzling selection of dubwise cuts. it opens with a tasty slice of reggae, ‘shine’, and ends with the saucy dub house of ‘kaos’. in between are sandwiched the dubstep infused ‘100 ire’ and ‘condensor’, spicy tech-dub joints ‘ivory towers’ and ‘kryptology’, and bass drenched breaks on ‘tectonic dubplate’ and ‘snake oil’.

‘slow cooked’ is available from www.dubmission.bandcamp.com and from pretty much every download store or streaming site worldwide.

‘the next mission: part three’ is not due out via the mainstream til december 23rd, but we have released it via www.dubmission.bandcamp.com already. as with the previous two selections, it features 3 tracks each from 5 artists from around the globe, all united by their love of dub and/or bass.

- from sheffield, we have ambient duo animat, whose lush, warm soundscapes have previously been released on big chill recordings, and whose series of re-scores have seen them soundtracking films as diverse as dark star and belleville rendezvous.

- from portugal, with a little help from greece, are yechidah, whose ethereal downtempo tracks are happily reminiscent of solar quest, while their epic uptempo collaboration with scubba sounds like the happy marriage of two classic tracks, apl’s ‘the calling’ and the infinity project’s ‘noises from the darkness (dub)’.

- from new zealand via australia, subset first came to our attention when he remixed pitch black’s ‘harmonia’, and his sound is certainly reminiscent of theirs, being, in his words, “four parts dub, one part house, equal parts breaks and drum’n’bass, dusted with an organic blend of evolving atmospheres and live filtering delays”.

- from israel via spain, kukan dub lagan is the long running project of mikelabella records’ label boss, itay berger, dedicated to creating “sunshine music for smiling people”.

- finally, from london, vacuum science’s deeply dubwise sounds reveal a wide knowledge of both past and present bass music, and plot a heady path between the two to take dub firmly into the future.

in other news, akasha are touring australia and new zealand in january and february plus have a new ep on the boil, international observer is playing splore festival in new zealand in february 2014 and mike hodgson from pitch black is finishing up curating his epic collection of tracks by his other act, misled convoy, for release some time next year.
