this week saw 3 releases come out: a triple drop of dub
first up was the first new material from international observer in 4 years. for 'more tales from the dungeons of dub' the observer dug deep into his dub vault for this selection of five tracks, all replete with deep bass, melodic strings and synth sirens.
we are slowly previewing the tracks at
next is the 2nd salvo in deep fried dub's global dubination plans for 2013. 'refried' features five of their remixes with fellow new zealanders pitch black and lotus get a melodic dub makeover, while worldbeat/ethnotechno pioneer banco de gaia sees his “oreia” track given a dancehall lick. returning to their adopted home, the duo stretch out the red eves' “arms over jordan” into a bass heavy roots epic, and give mista savona's "captive bird" more of the same dubwise treatment.

finally we stepped back in time to re-release 8 classic etherealites cuts that featured on either 'mashing up creation' or 'more bass than space' or on a 12inch we put out in 1999. coming from a soundsystem background, they are sparse and bass heavy, and damn good.
they can be previewed at
next up is deep fried dub's new album, pencilled for a november release, and the third installment of 'the next mission' series, with cuts from animat, yechidah, vacuum science, kukan dub lagaan and subset
