Dubform... Err... Waveform Transmissions Vol. 3

I'm a long time fan of Forest, Waveform, and Musical Star-streams. I own and love the first two Waveform Transmission comps. Somehow the release of the third volume snuck past me last fall. This one is also very good, but definitely more dub-centric. What struck me as odd though, was that it's almost entirely Dubmission related artists.
1. Tiger Mendoza – Hope Sick (Dub Mix) (5:10)
2. Warp Technique – Nowhere (Live Rerub) (8:33)
3. Stress Assassin – Emotion Tracker (6:57)
4. Bluey – Just One More (8:45)
5. Third Ear Audio – Deep Blue (8:16)

7. The Push – Long Ride to Fargo (9:59)
8. Pitch Black – Harmonia (Subset Remix) (7:25)
9. Jah Acid Dub – In Control Dub (7:07)
10.International Observer – Popcorn Slavery (Mistrust Remix) (5:54)
I'd be kind of curious to hear the story behind this if there is one. Seems like an odd approach for a label to use it's flagship compilation series to focus on another label's offerings. Not that I mind. Dubmission is always a treat and is one of my favorite labels.

not that I know the specifics of this deal, but
It is a great way to get a US based physical release on a number of tracks in the catalogue + loads of airplay on Forest's show which is syndicated across USA and generates royalties on Sound Exchange. Makes sense for Forest too. |

sorry for the delay - missed this when you first posted
basically, i have known forest for nearly 15 years now, and have exchanged music with him since then. as well as our own material, i am forever sending him info on artists/demos that i get sent.
while dubmission has physical distribution in the us through allegro, some of our newer releases have been digital only, so the option of them being on cd is always welcomed. equally our profile is neglible to the point of invisibility in north america when compared to waveform's so we are happy for any exposure being on their compilations can bring.
while i am happy for this to continue, i know that forest would like to get music from other sources, and so would recommend any musicians reading this to get in touch with him - he will be compiling volume 4 right about now
