i have finally got a decent soundcard , monitors and midi controller..
im thinking in what should be a smart investment right now, im REALLY bad at saving so i think i can spend 500$ now before its all gone. for this price i think the options i want are either a dsp based analog modeled desktop synth / Nord 2 or hopefully Virus B... and the other option is A DSP card like Powercore compact - which is what i can afford. im cheking out the plugins included and it looks attractive, i mean i could use all compressor and reverbs from this unit and only use native for favorite special fx. that save a load of CPU,... and i can get the Virus as well in the form of Virus Powercore, that ive also heard nice stuff..
so any advice on the powercore compact and its plugins?? u think that these ones will do the job as my main processors>??? as compared to let say waves????
Ive always liked working inside the box,, VST internal mixing etc...
on the other side having a external synth would be nice. i already have the rekon virus vst editor.... mmmmmmm so hard to decide...... |

hello, i've got the powercore fw unit with virus for it. tc reverb is very good, if not the best, you get fast a good reverb. also character-plugin rocks and the included sh101-look/soundalike is supposed to be quite close to the real one. also the tc-finalizer is included. the poco-virus is supposed to sound like the virus-b.
i bought it to have together with my laptop a nice portable studio with a kind of hardware synth in it. if i would only make music in my home studio i would probably not have bought it. save some more cash and get a Ti i would say, here they start slowly to come second hand. boom. |
