Depends on too many, since there are no man here who actually own plugins but download them from net then DSP card would a waste. |

ok got the dude on the phone and asked him whether he tried enough to make the scope work with the fireface or quit after a few attempts....he said: ''man, you do't know how much i wanted the scope to work...i bought the thing...and i wanted those synths badly. There was no f*n way...''
Now, i trust him on that. Either way, i would not want to waste a month just in case it would work for me....not to mention the money.
So, i went on to my next question,,,what about plugging the scope on a second pc and using the fx teleport? (i'll continue that on the thread about fx teleport)

@koniord
Like I said I know people who run the Pulsar with other DSP cards without problems.
But some machines is not suited to hardly run the Pulsar on it's own and definatly not in combination with other cards.
It puts a lot of strain on the PCI bus so that you have a quality mobo with a good chipset is vital.
I would think the problem your mate have is a PC not up for the task and I know for a fact it's incorrect that the Pulsar should not be able to coexist with other cards.
I don't know why one would try to run pulsar along with a fireface though since a regular Pulsar card have 20 I/O....better to just have some ADAT coverters if you want plenty of I/O, DSP power and a stable system.

Hi,
Soundrift, i don't think that we disagree on anything. Noone said that creamwares don't run with other dsp cards...provided that you use the right equipment.
Creamwares run with other dsp cards with no pronlem. The mobo my friend and I too are using is av8 deluxe. It is the one uad and tc electronic are using for most of their tests too.
What one would want from some soundcard like fireface is the mic preamps mostly and the fact that you can use it with my laptop and go anywhere.

Thats what I figured.
Via chipsets is not very good and don't agree with Pulsar many times.
You want an Nforce3 or intel chipset to get a stable pulsar machine in my experience.
The fireface seems excellent for sure and handy for the laptop.
What I do is that I have a magma PCMCIA-PCI chassi so I can use my pulsar on my laptop.
It works like a dream, but it becomes a bit more awkvard since you need an extra box for more than 2 analogue I/O and preamps.
But it's worth it IMO since that extra DSP power is great to have especially when you working on the laptop.

You're right about that but the VIA K8T800 Pro works fine with creamwares and other dsp cards like uad and poco if you don't use another soundcard for I/Os.
The same problem with scope and fireface/multiface/fw1884 appears with intel chipsets too. I don't know about the nForce3.
Well, i'm going for the fx teleport thing and my second pc has an Intel 875P + ICH5R chipset so it should work fine with a scope and 1 or 2 uads.
