Greetings from Bulgaria chilling guys !
I adore ethno music , and I think it's a very powerfull source for artists of the psytrance and escpecially chillout scene.
And I'm proud that my country has such a rich folklore , as actually many countries do Our scene in Bulgaria is still small , but it's growing really fast i think.
I've made a set exploring the bulgarian ethno motives used by artists in chillout and psytrance , hope u'r gonna like it

Man, little window told me there were 37 hours left in download, so I cancelled. Is that normal?

Heard bits and pieces coming in and out of my room (left it playing). Sounds very nice, especially considering that I am getting more and more into ethnic music. It's cool also that I somewhat get the gist of what they are singing about without understanding all the words exactly. Reminds me of some chastushki from my childhood.
Will get back after a more thorough listen.

Alrighty, went through the set and I'd be making an understatement if I'd say I was disappointed. The set, I felt, was more of a mix set of various artistes, than a focus on one particular style of music, say ethnic or psychill or whatever it was intended to be.
The set started off nicely and had a very ethnic touch to it towards the beginning. I really liked the Vataff Project tracks. Then it started getting a little more commercial and less ethnic / psychill track 5 onwards. Most tracks after that had a very less or almost non-existent ethnic vibe to them.
Tracks by Transformation sounded pretty much like any other mainstream dance music types. Infact track 6 sounded very much like Alizee - Moi Lolita, some mainstream track I'd heard abt 2 years ago. A small question here - are TranSformation and TranCEformation two separate artistes or have you mistakenly spelt them different?
All in all, an honest disppointment because I was expecting to listen to some ethnic stuff, maybe on the lines of Kaya Project or closer home, Talvin Singh, Punditz, etc. Sorry if I sounded harsh, but thats just how I felt.
Anyways, hope to hear more from Vataff Project
Peace out y'all!

PS: For an excellent ethnic Indian music set visit : http://ambrish.de/music.html and try the set Ethno Techno 2. I have a feeling you won't be disappointed.
Dont forget to drop the guy a line or two abt the set.

Yes, the end was somehow not what I was looking for. But the beginnig was cool and let me hear some new stuff that was well placed together. I don't know why you took the road you did towards the end though. Not bad per se, just strange and not my cup of tea.
Best of luck, hippo man

So , thank you for the comments guys
Now about the tracks .
The idea of my set was to explore the ethno motives used by artists in various styles. One
reason for that is , even if it might sound funny, that there are not enough psychill artists here , hmmm ... let's just say Vataff Project is the only one ...
tack 1 - "Tranceformation - Endless" is an unreleased piece mace by some guys now making music under the name Disham. So is the last track. They're really good , but unforunately they concentrate more on non-ethno stuff.
track 5 - "Nikolina Chakurdukova - Zaidi zaidi iasno slunce " is a pure ethno bulgarian track with no electronic involvement at all , i'm really interested if you liked it
Yeah, tranSformation are different guys.I confess their music is bit more mainstream, but i like the combination though.
The track by Union Jack has nothing to do with bulgarian artists , it just contains bulgarian ethno vocals
Tranceformation - Infecto is one of my favourite psytrance tracks indeed.Although the style is copied from Infected Mushroom, for me , it's the best bulgarian psy trance track ever. And those voice samples that you couldn't get the sense of , are actually taken from "Alice in Wonderland" in bulgarian
talking about mushrooms and so on
Check the website of Vataff for more info , he's released 2 albums so far,but i'm not sure if they're available in some international online shop. His track " Free Space" as well as a track of Disham ( former Tranceformation ) - Inspire have been released by Valagume records in " Ambient Planet vol.1 " after both artists took part at Boom! 2004 playing live at the chillout.
And I promise i will make a pure ethno mix as soon as enough tracks are available
Peace |

Hi everyone!!
i'm aware that it's been a couple of years since this topic was revived and maybe seen last time, but i came across Begemot's mix which is really really exceptional (thanks a lot), and decided to ask for it again in .FLAC quality, since old link does not work any more!
i just wish to hear it fully that is to say.
so, furthermore i was wondering if any of you folks is eager come up with it one more time????
well, that's it for now, hope that aiming wasn't so high.
