I've been working in Cubase for a while now. I have made all the drumloops in Acid and then importing them into cubase, but is there an easier way? How do you guys produce the drums and percussion in Cubase?
I'm an old Fruityboy so I got used to the easy way to use samples in patterns.

I've been using NI Battery, loading the samples into it and using MIDI to program my loops. I'm not 100% satisfied with it and have been considering getting Fxpansion's BFD (hear good things about it). I also hear good things about Spectrasonics Stylus.

I do the same as fuzzikitten, I use battery and program in midi. If you change the track you are working on to the drum editor I think it helps. Another thing take all you favorite samples and make your own kit or kits and then save them. Lastly you can route each drum sample to a different output track so you can add different FX to the different drums. Hope that helps. Peace

I got load of drum samples on my hard drive and i simply load each sample into a different audio track and arrange them. its seem hard but after you got used to it, it gives the best resaults because you use only the qubase to edit the samples (so they dont need to go through a sampler output.
a other way to create loops is in the spectrasonic`s stylus. very nice vst for drums and percusions.

I´m with Billy!!!
I use only audio tracks+Spectrasonics Stylus. But I already have some Stylus drums samples, so I can load them on an audio track also.

I always used Reason's ReDrum Rewired (love the step sequencer!!!) , and then in the end exported all loops to Audio and then import in Nuendo.
Now I use NI Battery 2, and considering Spectrasonics Stylus RMX.

I'm using Battery (and Kontakt) as well, but i've been having some strange problems with drum-sounds that are modulated in length, while i didn't want them to.
Now i'm looking for a drum-sampler in which i can scroll through my sample-folders, that doesn't have this annoying bug. Any suggestions ? |

PhMagic (and Boobytrip) u can rewire flstudio to cubase and use it as a 'power'-sampler.
I think it is very easy to make some good groove percussion loops with fruity.

PhMagic , i advice you to use Spectrasonic Stylus RMX or Native Instruments Battery 1 , both of these samplers allow you to make same loops as in Fruity with much more ease than sending Fruity's loops thru rewire . Battery allow you more as sampler in compare to Fruity's sampler when Stylus RMX is much more complex tool with more qualited samples. Just take you time and learn how . If i did if there is no reason you shouldn't . |

H20 and others - I've been trying NI Battery and it seems to be the tool that I needed, But I just have this one problem. I'm getting "ticks" when a sample is overlapping each other... for example when I set the notes close to each other!? Do you know why?
