hey guys,
i still havent figured out the best way to do sick drum rolls at the end of 16 bars section in a track....the only way i can think of is to do it MANUALLY and draw each kick in...BUT this is way too time consuming, im lookin for a way to do it using a knob or something that makes it by LFO or something...so its more controllable and sounds more realistic! the manual way sounds too static..i want to have full control of how my kick drum reacts to a knob!!
please guys anyone could share this secret would be my best friend for ever!!
thanks guys!

Unless being a midi freak, i dunno...
but for drum rolls (if u meant not only the snare), i sample sometimes some old school disco stuff, with plastic tomtoms if possible ^^
Compress a lot and you're done

Use a sampler... like
http://www.discodsp.com/highlife/
experiment with the lfo settings, Sync the rate and see what happens..
or use stylus RMX.. maybe the chaos generator can be usefull...

maybe you should do one rolling kick manual, and edit it with some filters, like "PSP nitro".
then you can always change it like you want.
cheers

No offence but how time consuming can it be to draw them in "manually" ? -You make music making it sound like a race... lol
and the static feel you get when you draw them it is probably because you quantize the notes... try turnng quantize off, then you can make whatever roll you want...
or yeah, use some "beatrepeat" thingy... but seriously... :-o

Guru is good for making drum rolls, you can do stuff like shift the roll and filter it as well pretty easily. Then drag the midi file out of guru for further editing if you want.
