Anyone have a SERIOUS reference about the efects of LSD and MDMA and the music frequencies? ex maryjuana users want to hear reggae musik, mdma users wants deep modulations, fat bass and spatial songs with choppers and reverbs.           --------------------------------------------
When you ask your spouse to turn the TV down a touch - do you mean only 1 dB?

Hi
What I know is that MDMA especialy LSD causes so called "synesthesia" which means "to see a sound" or to "hear a smell" or to "smell a sound" or whatever crossing over of senses..

I actually never heard a smell or something, but what's really typical is to "SEE SOUNDS"..

So with this in mind it becomes very logic that consumer of LSD and MDMA like music with a special sound design! Makes the best pictures in mind!

As an addition there is the open-hearted attidude of the consumer especialy on MDMA.. this attitude makes the comsumer enjoy soulful, emotional music much more than emotionless music..

At last: the marihuana users listen to much more than regea.. but regae and chillout as a prefered direction will be because of the releaxing influence of marihuana and this sorts of music...

But still marihuana also can causes a little bit synesthesia.. so makes also sense for other styles...

Hope could help you.

as for what I have experienced....
if u r on LSD...u need the music thats well crafted & powerful or its a boaring scene...
well on MDMA or on an "E" it dosen't really matter...
at the end of it it all depends on what u like to listen to....

I tend to like more "heads-down" music with amphetamines or mdma (like techno or more progressivey trance), and more weird-out stuff with trippy effects and plenty of crescendos and stop-starts with psychedelics.

It seems to me that the "hypnotic groove" aspect of the music matters less as you get more towards a tripping state of mind.
I would say that this was a function of the energy reserves you get with mdma or speed, but I think there's more to it than that - I always have loaaads
of energy with mushrooms, but I use it more for laughing, jumping around sort of dancing, whereas with less trippy drugs the energy is more focused.

Anyone else find this?

Hey speaking of synthaesthesia, I was in a club once on some mushrooms and mdma, talking to my friend with my eyes shut, and getting a few swirly geometric things behind my eyes, and as the conversation veered on to individuals that we both knew and loved, my mind's eye was focusing in on different "eddies" in the swirling stuff, and different parts of it would glow brighter, as if it were responding to our conversation!

How cool is that? Seeing emotions, I suppose. It was fucking cool, anyway!
