Dreamcatcher and Soular Records are combining forces to bring you a
killer party this Wednesday night at the Fat Black Pussycat Lounge in
NYC! Our special guest Deeper In Zen hails all the way from San
Francisco and will be playing tracks featured on "Tao," his forthcoming
third album on the Soular Records imprint. Deeper In Zen is infamous
for driving crowds in to a frenzy with his aggressive, full-on sound
and with every performance the response goes even more over the top!
This is a very special event that is not to be missed...
10 - 11:30 - MIND WARPED (DJ set)
Mind Warped aka Kent Friedman has been tearing up the trancefloors with
his unique blend of melodic, full-on psytrance ever since the release
of his seminal album, "Fluorolizard" on Boom Records in 1999. As one
of the first U.S. producers to commercially release psytrance, Kent has
subsequently been producing massive tracks with releases on Krembo
Records and more recently Soular Records. This time around Mind Warped
brings us his DJ skills with a warm-up set featuring smooth,
psychedelic ambient and chillout leading to a spacey psy dancefloor
sound that will get your body moving and prepare you for the twisted
sonic journey that lies ahead.
11:30 - 1:00 - HUGH SHARPE (DJ set)
From the steamy jungles of Puerto Rico to the frozen Canadian north,
no
dancefloor has been immune to Hugh Sharpe's infectious grooves.
Crafted with care and meticulously mixed, his DJ sets have been
bringing the psychedelically-inclined to their feet for nearly a
decade. Expect him to dig deep into his library of tunes to take you
from humpday into thumpday with style.
1:00 - 2:30 - CYZUM (DJ set)
Jay Selway has been DJing various styles of techno and trance for over
10 years and is a rising star in the new generation of U.S. psychedelic
techno DJs. Cyzum's style is characterized by a big full-on sound with
stomping melodic dancefloor fillers augmented by over-the-top twisted
madness. Clearly one of the most productive U.S. psy trance DJs, Jay
runs his own internet radio show ('The Static Channel' on DI.FM),
provides A&R support for Soular Records, designs party flyers, produces
tracks and has been throwing top-notch parties in the Baltimore/D.C.
region at major venues including Sonar and Nation. This guy is simply
unstoppable and his DJ set is bound to please even the most jaded psy
trance space traveller!
2:30 - 4:00 - DEEPER IN ZEN (LIVE set)
Deeper in Zen is producer James Brian. He has been pushing the
boundaries of psychedelic trance for over 5 years with top-notch track
production characterized by a hard, driving sound. Always
incorporating an aspect of spiritual transformation into the music,
Deeper in Zen consistently seeks to channel intelligent infinity
through the use of sound and vibration. James has travelled the world
over from Japan to Budapest, pounding dance floors with his unique
style of Thundering Power Psy-Trance. Join us for an exclusive live
performance as he blasts his way back to New York City in celebration
of his forthcoming double album. Be prepared to melt your mind,
destroy your ego, and transform your body in to a swirling cloud of
trans-dimensional particles!
