if i fit 1/16 notes in full grid, then with Alt+mouse make some glides, some long, some short note, even let some little blak space between would be better u think? Cause if i use 1/8 two times in that way, its seems to slow down when im doing a strong, fast, main melody, like the end of lunar civilizations, i belive it dont have any 1/8 notes...
thanks for the tip

exactly.
i just played along with the main lead (the one that starts at 7:58) of his version of lunar civilization and actually, what i got was mostly 1/8ths. there's even a dotted 1/8 in there (but it's gated into 1/32th; in theory it could also be single notes with the right envelope, but it sure sounds like a gate to me). i think what makes it sound so fast and intense is that layer underneath (starting at 7:45), that's gated a lot more and not only plays the main melody but also fills up the blank space in between those notes with lower notes (in some places i think this layer actually plays 1/16 instead of the 1/8 in the main melo). also those higher layers (some gated in 1/16) contribute to the whole thing.
if i wasn't half falling asleep now, i'd give it a more in-depth listen, lunar civilization is a track that never gets old |

Very nice, I never new about the phrygian scale I checked it and it sounds nice, but what I don't get is what about the chords?
Or is the phrygian scale just something you can use for melodies within your choosen root key, so let's say my track is Em I use the phrygian scale for melodies but my chords remain the basic ones from Em?
If so, does that count for count for the mixolydian scale etc too?
Because that would be interesting in order to maybe make some more funky electronic music, not psy but just electronic stuff |

in my ignorance the chord of Em should fit in the phyrygian
i make that on my song, i had a C# phyrigian and i made a C#m chord C# + E + G# and it fitted well

you only use chords that have notes that fit in with phrygian. so sadly, most of the great chord progressions you use in natural minor don't work anymore (if they fit in, they often take away the typical phrygian character sometimes even making the phygian trademark, the minor second, sound out of tune). a common way is to only use (in the case of E phry) chords with the root notes E, F and G, but quite a few old goa tracks get around this by having one section in phrygian and another in aeolian.
this one is intended for guitar, but i've found it helpful:

lots of effects are better to record (use mic(s)) first some good sounding thinsg before putting them to sequencer for further modifications.
Good example is the sound design for original star wars movie, were almost all was recorded at the first stage.

Sure that is a step sequencer. Also there is a gate sidechained from a ryhthmic base making it jumping. It's just to have a good synth with a good arpeggiator module, with handly options.
In anycase, if you want to play each note you won't achieve the same dynamic at all, or you are some chinese prodigy child pianist.
A solution is to reduce the BPM for interpretation and so return to original tempo. |

try a saw wave, put a low pass filter after that, turn up the resonance until filter self-oscillates, play a very low note and play with the cutoff. then add a hp filter to get rid of the bass.
if you want it to go faster, play a higher note and the other way round. |
