As for midi-controllers, the Novation X-Station, seems like a league of it's own. It's definatly one of the most interesting controllers out there (and if acts like X-Dream use it for doing live who am I to argue...)
But, Edirol and M-Audio are good as well, i guess... I personaly chose the Edirol PCR-A30 and I'm very happy with it (my friends as well...)
After all I think it's a matter of budget and availability... so I'll say
Novation as first choice
Edirol as second
M-audio as third
as for models it's up to you and your prefferences ( how many keys, how many knobs and slides, sound card, etc...)

good luck mate...

You got me there...
When I looked for a Midi-controller, I didn't check the Korg, 'cos it was out of my budget (got my PCR-A30 for 200$...).
Korg are well known for their excellent products... so I guess that you're wright, mate!

Have a good one!           Out Here We're Stoned....

Hi,

Despite the fact that edirols midi keyboards has better keys, the knobs are fucked because there a gap in in the "0 point", which means that tweaking with it is not so smooth. I have an evolution mk-449c and im very happy with it. Keys are not the same as edirols, but they are a lot better than for example radiums. Evolution is a good choice.
