Here are some reviews (and links):

Tract from Deamon Tea:

EST Disc 1

1.G- Light I have just been born. I quite liked this one as an opener for the CD, it has The heavy kick that I am looking for but also builds with sound. Ididnt like the vocal samples though, I Thought without them maybe this one would have been stronger.

2.Vibra Extrordanaire This one isnt too much my style so I have not many words J

3. Azax syndrome Nightmare This one is my favourite on the disc, hard and unrelenting psychedelic Music that has a beautiful drum, is very dark and destroys the dancefloor. People go nuts to this music Over here&more of this!!!!!

4.Nexus EDTA This is another very strong track on the disc, beatiful range of instruments and the intro Is the clincher for me, another fine track from these guys and definitely a strong one for this disc. Again this Works where it matters for me, on the dancefloor.

5. Mechanix Made in Moscow This one is ok, but the falling crashing kicks I am not so keen on. Has very Nice oscillators through it but something for me isnt quite there yet. I played this in a club spot and it worked Though so maybe is just me. I have heard a lot of other Mechanix..maybe this signifies a darker, harder direction ?? I hope so!

6. U Recken Ghost Ship Great intro in this track that makes it strong and good for the night but I am not liking the bass Drum so much on this, good atmospheres do help but I prefer rolling kicks. Maybe this one is ok for around dawn time

7. Entropy Kopsses Event rmx This is a big track here on the dancefloor, another favourite from the disc I can drop this in the middle and people love it. Not so much a hard track but some very psychedelic elements makes it work

8. Double Rel Finished People WOW! This sounds like Kluster and I like it a lot. Very much a sound for a stomping Dancefloor. The fear sample is killah!! I hope I hear more from these guys&very good music in this track

9. Wizard Lizard Pure Joy This one is another dancefloor stomper, a great way to end the disc and a strong track also that twists around. I play this early in my set and it worked well this time for the club.

EST Disc 2

Sylabass vs U Recken Two Bastards The opening track here reminds me of Tetrakitys but rises up and the samples Make it a lot of fun. Good dancefloor response also so it makes me happy

2.Zebra N Man on a Mission I love the opening sample and tone but when the bass kicks in GREAT a very strong Track that rips through your mind. More of this ones pleasse!!!

3. Azax Syndrom Vs Winter Demon The best track on the disc&Regev and Nimrod are the future of dark, hard music. I love this work and it destroys dancefloors making people go crazy. Powerful and psychedelic music for the future..makes me Very happy this tune . Massive respect for this one&please release more Winter Demon and Azax!!! Thay are too good for words!!

4. Nexus Observe the darkness Another favourite from Nexus again, very original sound that moves away from their other tracks and Stands out here. Warm and rich sound and I love the synths&nice!

5. Double Rel My Beloved One This is ok but not a favourite track, it hacks too much..I like the rolling more. The samples do work in the track though and again when I play this early the kids jump around a lot. A matter of my personal taste&

6. Entropy Paedro I dont like this one, is too slow and crawls along. Great dark atmosphere but for me it is too slow and drawn out.

7. Zirkin After Effect Yes this one is another killah!...the breakbeat intro and sample drop to the kicking bass. Totally love this Sound and the ambulance samples..Dark an hard and makes the mind go boom, works very very well on the dancefloor in the forest

8. Dissasociative Lakrimoza - Some nice instruments here but the bass is not so strong for me to play but I love the percussive elements And the way the track progresses along..not to gentle!

9. Cactus Green Liquid A slower track and not really my style but is ok to listen too for a softer edge.

By Kri - touchsamadhi.com

Electric Shock Treatment [First Session]
DOOFCD12 DOOF

1. G-Light / I've Just Been Born
This tk starts off with a draggy groove bass-line and stutter girl sample, then into some poppy synth rolls. "Im just born" sample kicks the tk
into higher gear going into a good hard synth stabs! Then it breaks and back to the groove bass-line with the girl singing swirl with a slight
stutter.
OK so then the vocal gets little housey with a hint of acoustic guitar. Ends with a morning up lifty felling.
"party starter or day time track"**

2. Vibra / Extraordinair
Good ambient beginning dropping hard in to the rolling bassline with the high-hat banging and popping synths!! going deep then grinding
synth build into the that bending zapping sounds, breaking into springy delayed stabs. going into good percussion and staying deep!! these sounds tend to mix together and back and forth building harder and harder.
"good deep driving tk"**

3. Azax Syndrom / Nightmare
phantom sample coming in - pumping bass-line, bending zapping sound, swirling into the spiral with stuttering synths. Breaking with phaser and sample. kicking in with a grinding synth keep it on the edge metal spongy synth keeping it going into a good slow dragging distorted swirling synth that

4. Nexus / E.D.T.A
grooving straight on with good percussion , glass breaking into the zapping breakdown. back into it with the grooving pumping bass-line.
psychedelic stabs coming in and out. this tk has a groovy freaky style to it not to crazy but not sane - phaser break kicking back in with the slightly reak out mode.
"groovy freaker"**

5. Mechanix / Made In Moscow
tk starts with distorted brake into 4/4 and 1/16 bassline percussion keep rollin in , with white noise stabs and metallic sounds staying erie.

You can tell this one is going to get wacky from the get go , with laughing stutter samples and popping zapping sounds. "cape fear movie sample"

swirling lfo benders into a deep scatter twitch, bending zapping sounds with more cape fear samples over the beat keeping it wackyer! crazy
drums and freak synth lead up the end.
"driving wacky"***

Review on Swedish Mushroom:

E.S.T (Electric Shock Therapy) is a series of two compilations from DOOF Records. On their website http://www.doofrecords.net/ they promise the listener "uncompromising tracks that will twist your mind!". Its not an empty promise!

The first session is an orgy in some really nice psytrance, and I dont mean orgy in a bad way. If someone manages to stand completely still when hearing this on a dancefloor something is NOT right. Even while just sitting down on a chair listening its impossible not to be affected by the music.

My two favourite tracks on the First Session CD is nexus-E.D.T.A and Wizard Lizard-Psy Joy. I couldnt find a track that I didnt like. Dont expect to find a new sound or something you have never heard before. I dont think DOOF Records ment to release something completely fresh and new. They decided to put out a compilation that can be trusted in all weather conditions, and this they have done. You wont get dissapointed by the nine tracks but not surprised either.

If you like hard, driving, psychedelic and fullon sounds then this is something to check out. It got some of those "KILLER!" tracks on it that will make any dancefloor rise from the dead again.

Title: Electric Shock Treatment (first/second session)
Artist: V/A
Label: Doof Records
Review by Bob - Upfront Magazine - UK

As far as I can gather there are two parts to this comp, whether they are sold together or separately will be down to you to find out, but all I can recommend is that you get both, for both are equally good in the power and strength they exude. Doof Records have a penchant for the bizarre dark and eclectically weird and both these albums reflect that well. Hosting the usual in-house talent of the likes of Entropy and Zirkin alongside international heavyweights like Nexus and Azax Syndrome, Electric Shock Treatment takes us, the listeners, into a dark and spiralling journey. Review from Renemag by Jezz Porat:

There's no better way to start the summer than with Israel-based Doof Record's new concept in medical therapy: E.S.T (Electric Shock Treatment) volumes 1 and 2. Doof is known for its distinguished sound and true psychedelia and this time it's more suitable for the dance floor! And even more full-on than ever. This wicked treatment from Doof comes in two sessions, each featuring nine uncompromising psychedlic tracks from local Israeli artists and also some from the international scene. Some artists are known and some are new names that will twist your mind with their psychedelic sounds. Faithful to its tradition, Doof Records are back with 2 sessions this time, for the true psychedelic music lovers out there who just cannot get enough of this music. Doof Records spreads a different notion of what night trance music should be about, this time trying to reach a wider crowd and does it through a double shock treatment. The first session starts with the dark groovy dancy Russian sound of G-Light with a singing girl sample, poppy synth rolls, and has a housy feel to it but overall is a cool track. VIBRA comes second grooving with a deep, dark uplifting track, rolling bassline, grinding synths and zapping sounds building harder and harder. Azax Syndrom is taking the lead and rocks the dance floor with his pumping bass line and driving full-on sound. Nexus is targeting the morning hardcore dancers with hard-driving psychedelic that makes you smile; a groovy freaker. Mechanix has an organic pumping, pushing, crashing track with white noise stabs and metallic sounds. It's a true dark monster. U-Recken hits with his full deep dark kicks and bass lines, vocal samples and choir synths. Good ambient background and excellent synth and sample swirls keep you in to the low stomp. Get ready for sunrise. Double R.E.L are coming to flirt around with laughing stutter samples and popping, bending and zapping sounds. It has kick-ass rolling bass with driving grinder synths and the swirling bends into a deep scatter twitch. It's freaky as hell and a crazy driving floor killer. Entropy, better known as Kopsses, follows perfectly after the last track with a dark tech minimalist feel to it, adding some bending zapping sounds rolling into good break percussion and vocal moans. The dragging tribal grinder synth keep you locked in. The Wizard Lizard are here with a dancy track with white noise stabs, popping bass line and whipping synth stabs. Nice end to the first compilation; definitely psychedelic pure joy. Once the first session is over one can't wait to play the second. The second session starts more in the full-on vibe, building up to a maximum excitement and slowly grooving into the dark and mysterious realms of psychedelic trance. Some of the artists on session one are here again with different tracks, mostly dark and twisted. You would definitely get the right electric shock treatment (or if you want therapy) from these couple of sessions. It will fit perfectly to the collection of any psy-trance freak out there. Plug in and dance. No chemicals needed here.

Hey Doofsters,
not only great work, but also super nice to see Portuguese talent on your label . . .
Indeed a great choice . . .as for the others surely they need no intro.
