I know this may sound pretty stupid to some of you, but I love the Impulse Tracker interface. I work very fast and can let my ideas flow much better musically on that program (probably because I used it for years), but I think it's interface is just BRILLIANT.
is there any sampler for cubase/logic which has the same interface/idea of Impulse Tracker (only without the shit quality)... it's just too good for percussion (easy volume control, pretty strong instrument options, very easy to control panning at complex levels, multichannel view, etc, etc, etc)?
If there is... where is it?
If not, WHY THE HELL NOT? |

There is a new tracker that uses vsti's.
I think its called Psycle.
You are like my litle brother that can't shake the IT from his music.
I got over it thank god.
Try this psycle it is good stuff. |

not looking for a tracker (I want to get that shite out of my system :)), I want a sampler for logic with a tracker interface. The beat is just easier to design when you look at the build of 4-5 channels at the same time (instead of the STUPID cubase/logic interface, where it's easier to hear it than to see it)... And in Impulse, it was just way faster to work that way, and comfortable to make small adjustments to the whole thing because you could just move keep one channel open on a bassline/bassdrum/whatever and with the rest pan to what you want to play with according to that rhythm.
I'm not saying it's not possible in logic or cubase, just cumbersome, uncomfortable, slow and just not obvious.
And it goes against every tracking instinct I have (pressing TAB to move between channels is such a nice option, don't you think?). |
