I call upon all of you NOT to go to the samothraki dance festival. I want to know what's behind the fact that not even ONE Israeli DJ is playing in the festival, and as far as I know tickets are also not sold in Israel. I want to know the meaning of this!!!!

All those who have pride in our small country, or even if you support music to everyone, understand that we cannot let this happen. Israel for years has been known to produce top of the line DJ’s and amazing crowds. I know that the line up is very tempting, but I personally refuse to go on this principal, even though I do have the opportunity to go. I am outraged and furious why in the name god did the promoters leave out one of the elements of music; sharing the music with everyone. Trance is supposed to be about sharing and the gathering of all people from all countries and all races. Not about a selected few. In every big event, so far, every major trance country had at least one representative- Hungary, south Africa, Zambia, voov to name a few….
I call upon all of you NOT to go to the samothraki dance festival!!!!
Whether you are Israeli, Greece, Italian, Brazilian English or German, how would you feel if a big event such as this would not include a representative from your country? How would you feel if they would not sell tickets at you country?
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF THEY MADE YOU FEEL LIKE THEY DON’T WANT YOU?

I think you're a bit too late trying to convince people not to go. What made u wake up all of a sudden?
Actually I'm happy there isn't even one israeli d.j there. If I wanted to hear israeli d.js, I would go to a party every week-end (and I do that already).
About the tickets selling, well, u're right. I don't understand why they didn't have a selling point in Israel. But u know what? Either they like it or not, we israeli are going to be thier major crowd there. Every second person I know is going there.

Agmis i guess you thought about this one a little late.
About the tickets point in Israel you are absolutely right but since we cant know any further details about it then i guess we should be more carefull about what we are saying.Maybe they couldnt find a distributor there,maybe maybe maybe 
As for the israeli artists here is the case.....
In Greece people dont listen to israeli artists anymore,yes thats the sad truth,people prefer hard full on stuff like GMS or Proggressive music.
People dont listen much to Psysex,BLT,Hujaboy and the likes.
Not to mention Astral Projection that are considered dead here.
They have just started though to listen to the new works of Astrix and Alien Project cause its nice full on music and people like it this way.
Even Infected Mushroom have been loosing ground here.
When i was at the Space Cat party here in Athens many 5 months before during the Easter time i was probably the only one in there who knew who Avi was and what releases he had made,there were people all around me asking me if he had a new album or previous releases,sad but true yes but israeli music doesnt sell here anymore.
Lets hope things will change soon
Personally i am planning to make a big israeli event with all the major israeli acts like BLT,Psysex,Xerox, and many more guys just because i love this scene and i want people in my country to love it also.

raver girl--the fact that you can go every weekend to hear an israeli DJ has nothing to do with what i said. i said that you dont have a reprasentative and they dont want you--that is why they are not selling ticketcs. regardless of what you like to dance to, dont you want us to have representatives in national trance scene? and by the way, on the dance floor-you are our reprasentative.
detox--thank you for your comment. i dont know if you know him, but skazi plays one of the hardest full on there is today. and i heard psyside--he is not any harder. but the fact is that not only full on madness artists will play over there. you have in the other stages minimal also (look at the list). the fact is that the party is supposed to be an international event, with all kind of trance music.
will some one please explain why they left us out???
p.s. i spoke to an italian friend of mine the other day and she told me that if something like this would have happened to italians--half of the people that were planing to go would NOT. and on top of that, she does not want to go because she sympathaises with us and the fact that there is no rerepresentation for israelis!!! and she is italian.

1. About the tickets
Do you think israel is one of the major countries in the world and huge crowds from israel will appear on this festival? Maybe it's better money to set up selling points in countries like Germany & England & France & Italy..
2. About the lineup
Maybe it's a boycot because of the situation over there? Or maybe not all inhabitants of this globe like isratrance?

Agmis yes Skazi might be very hardcore full on stuff and people love him here in Greece but you forget something very very important.
What if Skazi has signed a contract with a particular manager here in Greece and cant play at Samothraki?

what does the world cup have to do with it??????
every single country in the world got the oppertunity to go to the world cup---through qulifications.
was there a turnament about who is gonna play in greece???? i dont think so.
and traveller, let me tell you something--israel is one of the major trance countries in the world. just go to any record store (internet also) and you will see the list of israeli artists. just go to any festival and you will see the israeli representation. and i will assure you that even though they did not sell tickets in israel, there will be a big representation in greece (which i dont agree with).
and why does the situation in israel have to do with the festival?????? does everything have to be politics???

Well i definetely agree with Agmis on thsi one, when i first saw the list of artists in the Sampthraki thread in the "Trance in Greece" section, i couldn't believ my eyes.
over 40 participaiting Dj's and artists and no Israelis? Bad joke. Very bad joke.
If the organizers wanna check out how dominant our influence in the Trance culture they are welcome to check out the highlighted albums in http://www.psynews.net
He will clearly see our dominance there.
And also is welcome to check this huge and evergrowing community of isratrance.com

This thread is pathetic - and furthermore pointless and stupid.
Do you think that israeli djz should be on every festival?? what is this crap !? the organizers like the music they like and that's what they thought of putting on the line up!
and if I live in Nigeria, and there is no tickets here -so now I'm gonna scream that nigeria is discrimintated and not come? This is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard...and I feel sorry for your friend in Italy that won't come, because she is missing a great event and so do I 
Bottom line - you don't even know why the tickets aren't sold in Israel and why there are no israeli artists there - I personally liked that fact.
This thread is only about pride, arrogance and stupidity I'm sorry (IMHO)

actually, i already wrote an email to the roginizers, but i still did not get an answer.
listen trip, this thread is not about pride. trance represents something to me. something so beutifull that there is not enough room or pages to decribe. look, this is the BIGGEST event of the year. there hasn't been a line-up like this maybe sinse africa 2000. so you want to tell me that in an event like this not to include even ONE israeli artists or to sell tickets in israel??? something is not kosher--cant you see it? something stinks here and i would like to know why!!!
