i've been a longtime fan of don peyote and i'm definitely looking forward to this one! his first solo release was some great ethno chill and i expect this one will be something special too.
anyone who likes good ethno/nature vibes should check out his collaboration with ganga giri 'tribe vibe' and another good one with naasko from interchill 'between worlds'. great stuff!

Guess I was spoilt by the years before that... psychill as a genre jumped out of the box in 2008 so there were more misses than hits in those experiments imo. Wasn't too thrilled with the new releases by the older horses either...Entheogenic, Eat Static, Abakus, OTT ... know what I mean?
And don't you comment saale... you went dubstepping, glitch hopping and bhangra dancing all of 2008.
Peyote Dreaming also happened to be a favorite ... live organic downtempo with world influences (to me the musical evolution of classic psychill) ... Ultimae releases aside, didn't find much that matched up.

just heard the samples... this one sounds like the sequel to between worlds rather than the one after peyote dreaming.
CD Info:
Label: Don Peyote Recordings
Format: CD
Release Date: 2009-05-08
Genre: Ambient / Electronica
“Eternal Now'
A deep ambient atmospheric journey….
Eternal Now
The first time I heard the music of Don Peyote more than a decade ago, I recognized immediately the unique brilliance of this artistic composer. Since then I have been enjoying listening to and also DJing his music to audiences in a wide variety of settings. His latest release Eternal Now is a full body emersion into the higher orbiting realms of human consciousness. Don continues his voyage into the trans shamanic journey soundscape domain with this astounding composition and when I recently played this recording within a ritual circle setting the experience was supportive, beautiful and profound. Destined for greatness.
DJ Krusty 2009
The new CD comes in an eco-friendly gatefold style cardboard wallet.
01 Vertical drift
02 Tuning In (Bells & Gongs)
03 Temple Of Dreams
04 Etheric Soma
05 Mirage
06 The Guardian
07 Here And Now

This is out now - my copy arrived this morning.
As Yidam has already said this is more akin to Between Worlds than Peyote Dreaming (one of my favourite CDs).
Although it sounds quite good from a first listen (very ambient) it's not as good as Peyote Dreaming IMHO but as they are so different there isn't really a direct comparison between them. |

writing reviews of stuff you love is hard. to keep the comments fresh and expressive of your true feelings requires a talent often equal to the artists themselves and with all the excellent music lately i'm running out of superlatives
shortly stated, this is an epic journey. if you are a patient soul and can really dive deep into music you will be highly rewarded. if you require a high degree of stimulation, this might be a much needed respite or you may get bored and turn it off before leaving the runway...
overall the best description i have for this would be akin to the best stargazing. vast and all-encompassing... incomprehensible... yet personal and immediate. not spacey sounding but will give you a very distinct sense and taste of the vastness of it all.
perfect artwork accompaniment. i like the minimal understated packaging too, very fitting.
as yidam and mk1 pointed out here...don't expect a sequel to peyote dreaming. but as a highly positive side note, right after the first pristine listen (just before sunrise) i dug up my copy of between worlds and revisited that. ahhh.... can life be any better? much love and respect to don peyote for this one
