Does anyone on this forum own a monkey, chimp or other primate with disposable thumbs?

If the answer is 'yes' then would you be willing to take part in an important experiment?

Opposable thumbs, yes. Disposable thumbs? no. He needs both of them.

Nah... i'm sure he wont miss them. He will probably grow two more anyway (monkeys can do that) ... or you can just buy him a new packet. That's the beauty of disposable thumbs!

Is there an echo in here?

Actually it didn't take that long to write anyway... i'm fast!

Anyone familiar with my posts will know that i usually hate getting all serious but as stupid as this thread was... it did have a serious point.

It was meant as a parody of all the cruel and sometimes stupidly pointless experiments carried out on animals over the years... particularly those of Harry Harlow - by all accounts a real sadistic nut-case.

On reflection, maybe this wasn't the best place to post it ... but as i was looking in and had a spare 10 minutes or so i thought what the hell.

Remember, love your monkey... but don’t love it too much - that kinda thing is illegal!

Peace and stuff.

Wild chimps reportedly have parties sometimes. I saw a document about them and sometimes they gather together, bang tree trunks with sticks and circle around. Hmm, makes me wonder if they ever tried to book a DJ, I guess promotion doesn't reach that far, but if they manage to book one my best guess would be Skazi.

This reminds me of an incident. I was wiz a coupla pals in Manali & we were just sitting in forest n chilling out, smoking joints n njoying the nature. Then i heard some sounds from around n we saw there were around 40-50 monkeys havin a gang fight divided in 2 groups, but more than any physical damages they were making wierd n loud noises which was even broadening in the forest. It kept on goin for around 90-100 minutes, the sounds were sumtims scary, sumtimes wierd, sumtimes painful, sumtimes agressive but all time PSYCHEDELIC.........

Any of you have heard that track by DJ Sid aka Aghori Tantrik (India) from his 1st album Kabrastan. The track is called BANDAR VANN which is a Hindi word n means MONKEY FOREST. I guess it's based on the same idea n has some quite psychedelic monkey sounds used in this n it,s a killer track.....

We were born naked & grow up to become wicked.

PROCEDURE

ok, i've completed the experiment and here are the results:

Quote:
STEP 1: General Application
Start by playing your monkey several different styles of 'psytrance' and observe it's behaviour. Which genre does your monkey appear to like the most. Does it seem to be a moody dark-monkey or a happy morning-monkey. Note down your results.

My monkey started dancing as soon as the music started...but pretty soon, it got bored and started sleeping esp. when some heavy dark music was playing...

as soon as i switched over to morning music, it started getting angry and tried to break things around...and then suddenly, it started dancing again...and then i slept off...this is where the real fun begins...

when i woke up (around 1.5 hrs later), i found out that not only was the monkey djing, but the entire neighbourhood were on my lawn dancing their heads off...

what is most surprising was that the monkey not only hired the equipment (i don't have any), it even transported me to a different house with a lawn (i don't have a lawn)

Quote:
STEP 2: Specific Application
Play your monkey a mix of both old and new 'psytrance'. Again, observe it's behaviour. If your monkey is trained in sign language, ask if it prefers the new sound or considers it to be too commercial. Note down your results.

Unfortunately, I could not proceed to this step becoz my monkey is currently travelling over the world (i heard he's now in Japan) and will come back only next month...

@Dawn, i'm pretty sure your country is on his itenary...i suggest you try part 2 of your experiment at that time....remember, he is easily identified by the t-shirt that says, "Who says monkeys can't dj?"

i guess that's pretty stupid, but i'm at work and we all know how work is

Interviewer: "So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?"
Frank Zappa: "You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?"

@Zooter

Wow... thanks, man! That is extremely valuable information and solid empirical evidence that you should never underestimate the power of monkeys!

Your results are greatly appreciated and i will make the necessary preparations for step 2 as soon as the hairy little guy arrives... i just hope that i recognise him.. If everything goes well, i may even make it onto the cover of next months issue of Evil Monkey-Botherer Magazine!

Thank you again... you are a true asset to the world of science!

Aren't there more serious issues than this monkey business at hand? Such as removing the pig.
Row row row your boats gently down the stream; merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.

monkeys don't like pigs because pigs don't dance and care only for food.
We love all animals but we prefer psy animals
The blue lunar monkeys for example can do everything
