Mh, depends on how you look at this question:
1. sure there are nearly allways pictures of gods at partys, so it has a place in form of pictures (even so I don`t like this fashion very much)
2. I think it`s an open minded scene, so people of different religions might be accepted quiet well (specifically Hindu and Buddhist)
3. I do not think that the scene itself is very much connected to religions like Hindu and so on, I guess it just uses pictures of gods for deco, that`s basically all ... there is no big difference between under- and overground there from my point of view ---
4. it`s possible to have spiritual experiences with or without drugs and trance music is optimal for that purpose (even so I do not know where a spiritual experience begins and what is only "an experience")
5. in the end "religion" itself can be anything even the scene itself

well, then go for it, go to a temple or something and puke on Buddha.
For some people religion is a very good thing to get an orientation inn life and believe in something, which gives hold. It is deff. not a 100 % bad thing. Even so there are lots of disadvantages of (some) religions, like rules in general, it has the aformentioned advantages.
also, people tend to create religion out of something, which was none before (like Buddhish philosophy / Vipassana somehow turned into a religion, even so Siddharta Gautama never intended that to happen, which is a sign that humans seem to seek for religion, so it can`t be sooooo bad ...)

Religions are good in their essensce all.Only people and fanatics misuse them dogmas for nonsensical purposes .
The ones that love them really honestly and sincerley though are for sure ful of light.
In each you could find your inner peace and true joy.
I could not decide cause I find them all interesting and see in each some points that I can share and some not.
You can practise spiritual rituals without being religious or a member of one religion, but you can be religious and spiritual in both I guess.

I also do not want to defend religions. There is no sense for defending it. But there is also no sense for having a only one-focus-view. I just try to have a diverse view.
And I did a mistake above. I guess Buddhish religion did not evolve out of Vipassana.

YOur core belief system probably wont change much I mean you travel and you open your mind to new things and Ideas that you incorporte with your core system of beliefs But do you dont become buddhist because you see a cd cover with Buddha of course not. And we all know how that really isnt spirituality is just a cd cover.

Many of the older trance people are simply not interested in going to parties as much any more because you get older and simply the scene is not what it was long time ago It sucks! But ofcourse god(christ alah buddha etc) has always has place in most people belief but as far organized religion that is vary complicated and totally different issue that always lead to trouble.

In my experience, there are two kinds of people who would be totally against religious imagery or references:
1) People completely locked into their own religious belief (everybody else is going to hell, of course);
2) People who are sick of the ones in the first category - good examples would be atheists, "agnostics' (politically correct atheists, IMHO) and "recovering Catholics".
I am guessing that both groups are more abundant in places with an offical religion (or, worse yet - state church). Not so much in places with separation of church and state (like India or the US).

Of course, this is an oversimplification (or just a wrong guess). Obviously, there are plenty of Israelis who don't have problems with Hindu imagery, right?

Anyway, I'll wave my star-spangled banner one more time
First Amendment all the way!
(And if somebody gives you shit about it - see the Second Amendment )

the only flag I'd wave is the black flag with the skull and bones .The flag of my wild district.Especially these days yeah! - We did it to the first league this week
I remember often my polish roots though.
Live and let live however.
I've met great communists, spirtualists, religionists or atheists, vegaterians non vegaterians whatever however.

Time Traveler, this is actually what I meant. Tolerance and respect are key, IMHO. People are different - this is just a fact of life. There is no need to be threatened by our differences. I love meat, yet many of my friends are vegetarians. I am not "progressive" - yet most of my friends are. We get along just fine. I may occasionally tease them about their veggie burger. And they tease me by calling me Republican. It's all just good fun. Nobody's hurt.

About the banner: I did not say it to sound chauvinistic. It's just that I believe there is plenty of wisdom in the original American values. They are expressed mostly in the Declaration of Independence and in the first 10 amendments to the Constitution (a.k.a. The Bill of Rights). "Live and let live" is the central idea there. It's a shame it became a minority opinion by now.

I find really interesting that many trancers these days have such a totalitarian view, very extremist of psytrance scene as the only truth.

They talk of other genres as heresy and worship the "open and spirituakl ethos" of psytrance.

I think this is what no longer as a aplace, here or in any place.

Everyone can believe what he wants but he must be aware that there is no such thing as a truth for everyone.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

well actually it's the big unknown.Since it nowhere stands that it's a he or she or a person it could stand for a question mark as well.
If there should be only one above than it's like with it you have a solution for milions of question that would not have been solved out without it.Like where is the begining and where is the end or what was before and what's after the end? And why? This big mysterium needs a term to get this chaos in order .
Nobody knows each one can decide to ingore ,go for good ,bad or just dont give a fuck. It's up to us.
