after carefully looking at the video, i say i must agree with you on that statement
@Ellon
its just Sam the Eagle, the anchor "man", it suits me? Sure i chose it.
Some people are so evil and dark, they dont even like the muppets pff
Guess you just missed me, who would you rant with if not with me?

Its a good pick...Sam the Eagle was a funny character...though a bit "dark"!!!!

I'm not a big fan of Dark-Psy, so the only partys I visit with dark are the ones I engeneer the sound...
In the last month I've been in 2 partys like that.
During both of these partys people got beaten & injured by other people.
Never seen anything like this.

yesterday i listened 6 hours of ocelot and kindzadza and i have to say I didnt feel any bad vibes.
In fact it turned to be pretty atmospheric.
The only problem was that those kicks, basslines and zaaaaaapssss kept in my head for more than 4 hours after listening.

I've really come to enjoy good hard dark psy, but I have to agree that I'm not a fan of cheesy evil vocal samples.
The music should be sinister enough. Actually the first trance (not psy) was kind a kind of sinister trance-version of acid house. There's a been a general trend in electronic music that whenever the music starts to get too cheesy and happy, someone grabs it and takes it back to its roots.
I think the thrill of dark is that you feel like you harness the power. It's kind of like the musical equivalent of a roller-coaster. It's very empowering, you're dancing and loving it and knowing that you're deep into this shit that would freak out normal people. It's kind of like the principle behind the first acid tests (throw a few pranks in the mix, spook out the heads and they'll love it.) You kind of feel like you're in that rave scene from Blade with the vampires in the subway and you're that much cooler for it. You feel charged, brave, amazing.
That said (and I know everyone says this), it's a part of the psy experience, the transition. I want dark psy at night to meld into full-on in the morning. It's the progression of one state of mind to the next. The journey. After a great night of dark, you just want the sun to come out and the music to pick up a melody and you feel like you're celebrating "passing the test". The shift from dark to full-on is that great feeling where it feels like somehow the dancefloor trapped and harnessed all that crazy, day-glo, feaky night energy.
I recall that feeling being especially strong at Gaian mind the morning after digitalist fed us some dark brain food and the dancefloor (surrounded by a stonehenge-like circle), it felt like somehow the stones contained that magnetic energy through daybreak. |
