Hello

Do any of you use any step sequencers/arpeggiators in Cubase?

If so, I wanna know how you are able to..

I've been trying to use my hardware synths with BlueARP for example, and I'm not getting anything at all, it's receiving MIDI data but no sound.

I've also used, creme, and catanya, no luck with those either.

I've tried to get help already on the steinberg cubase forums but I had no such luck,

any thoughts? Thanks for all inputs, <3

Arpache doesn't do what I want, it's useless to me . You can't program the arpeggios, it only converts chords into simple up/down arpeggios. This is what I've been trying to use, http://www.graywolf2004.net/my-projects/blue-arp-vst-arpeggiator/.

hello AA, do you have your audio-routing set up well? when your hardware receives midi, the arpeggator did its work.           http://soundcloud.com/vipal

I got Cubase because I love the hell out of it and does everything I want perfectly, until I ran into this problem though, although several other users have reported the same issue, but they've managed to get it working, I'm still sticking with Cubase.

As for that sexy piece of hardware...I wish, unfortunately having a wife means only 2 synths a year (what she says) what I say? Pfft, yeaaaahh right!

Hello Vipal, it's routed good, it's a bit tricky getting the routing right, but I've managed and I know it's working.
The arpeggiator shows me it's receiving the data, my hardware mixer even shows me that it's receiving and playing back just no sound

This is a quote from the actual author of bluearp over at KVR

"I got 2 email reports for bluearp not working with Cubase, someone mentioned here also as I remember. Symptoms are:
- Bluearp opens up in Cubase, when you hit play it runs, but it doesn't get any input notes from host
- When you try to route MIDI track to bluuearp's midi in, you can't do it, bluearp appears to have no midi in

I spent 4 hours on this and almost went crazy - but the reason was plain simple - I didn't call wantEvents() call inside Resume() call. So now it works, may be the reason for the same issue with other hosts. FL Studio doesn't care about this call, Cubase does, since Cubase is more strictly aligned with VST specification, no wonder.
I want to examine my code more carefully for alignment with VST specification. But time, time. And plans to migrate my code to make x64 version..."

There has to be a work around

One more thing, the very first symptom, actually, I have gotten it to playback sound, however, it did not arpeggiate my notes played on my hardware synth.

Yea, it does not play the arp from your synth.. when you draw single midi on your computer..

I usually insert Arpache5 ( default cubase midi effect ) in the midi channel.

This is a better option then using arp from your hardware since you can have note length which is not available on your synth. Also it actually works..

It took me a while to figure this out.. I felt so good when i found out about this option..

enjoy mate.
