I have a couple of analogue monosynths, but It's mostly just for fun and creativity. I have had all the major analogue synths and VA's and I found that I don't really need it. <3 Software, it keeps my room cleaner |

Everything matters
I like to tweak real synths more than software for sure.
But it can be in fact more buggy with midi, Depends.
But Nordlead 3 and Yamaha An1x is really sweet synths, i want a Virus C and a Good drum machine..

When I was 17 I bought my first synth a Korg Poly 61. At that time I'd mostly been studying classical piano and frankly I could not get the synth to sound good (as I wanted it to sound - like I've heard extremely skilled keyboard players playing their synths) until a day when a friend of our family who was a keyboard player in a funk/Jazz band had a go on my Korg. Suddenly the synth came alive and i was flabbergasted.
Point is: It's not what tool you use but who's operating the tool.

these days almost any software/hardware chain is technically as good as or better than was available in the late 90s or early 2000....
you got teras and teras of plugs, samples, loops, presets and whatever. you got logic, cubase, abelton, sonar, protools.... all of them mature and up to par. did i miss anything?
so yes, these days imo all you need to do is grab some plugs and make music.
so i think all that matters is what YOU do with this technology.
even a track made these days using only something like fruity loops ts404 synths for me is already "retro" and cool.
everything is in your mind and up to you.

Some analogue stuff would never be the same in software... such as tube distortion... anything with tubes maybe. |

what really matter is the music and the tools that help you to make better music..(cause of workflow for example )
sound if you want analog nothing beat the real thing even if it can be very close in some case and it s the same with digital. if you like today psytrance sound analog doesn t matter |
