I don't think there's enough artists these days that don't play one of the above to fill a festival main floor lineup. That is my perspective.

With flour, tomato, chees, olives and mushrooms you can make pizza or you can make couscous, both are the same ingredients, but ARE NOT THE SAME, different colours, different taste, different smell, and the most important, DIFFERENT CULTURE, italian culture is different than moroccan culture...

Remember in “Star Wars”, when they deployed the Death Star and Obi-Wan Kenobi got shocked (“There is a great disturbance in the Force!..”) and had to sit down for a minute?

That’s exactly what’s happening now to every Moroccan on this forum. I dare you to cross the Gibraltar strait and find a single dish of couscous, which would have cheese or mushrooms.

Sorry about OT – couldn’t resist.

wikipedia - couscous:

"...The lid to the steamer has holes around its edge so steam can escape. It is also possible to use a pot with a steamer insert. If the holes are too big the steamer can be lined with damp cheesecloth..."

Must be one of them yuppie experiments. Or something from "Moroccan" restaurants in the West. Kinda like sushi rolls with mayonnaise or cream cheese. They exist and are even quite popular. Just not among the Japanese.

BTW, this is very similar to that endless “is darkpsy dark?” discussion. See, couscous as a type of pasta is not the same as couscous as a Moroccan/Algerian dish. You can use couscous pasta with pretty much anything you like (including Canadian bacon). But couscous the dish has a particular set of ingredients, which differs slightly from place to place but (AFAIK) does not include mushrooms.

The pictures look appetizing, though…

Should one be forced to dance to full-on/darkpsy/suomi, in the main trance stage then?

I think this question has nothing to do with this post. We can sit down and be hours talking about the psy-styles, but there is nothing to say about minimal, because is a non-psy-style. Whats next? funky? I love funky (it show me how to dance) I see people getting in trance with funky, why not funky?

It’s one of them rhetorical tricks, a.k.a. impossible choices, a.k.a. false dilemmas: no mater how one answers this question he is going to be at fault (or at least look like a jerk). Well done!

The dilemma here is “should we force people who don’t like [XYZ style] to dance to this style?” vs. “should we force people who like [XYZ style] to miss it in their dance”. That’s what your question really means and that’s what most of this discussion boils down to.

Of course, this dilemma is false, since one does not have to choose between the two options presented. Nobody needs to be forced to do or not do anything at all. You take a walk and enjoy the weather, that’s all. If that ruins your experience so much that you hate yourself for coming to this festival – boycott it next year. Go to one that is closer to your preferences. When enough people like you do that, organizers will take notice. If you are a part of a miserable esoteric minority – your opinion does not matter anyway. So, there is no point in complaining or theorizing how it all "should" be.
Capitalism in action.

Minimal is minimal and is ruining people's trip

darkpsy is not dark and it certainly ain't psychedelic...music for whipersnappers and divinity-striken, retarted old fools, that had one drop too many.

goa? that shit is old and has that old shite kick... get with the programme.

new school goa? it ain't as good as the old school goa, which has that shite kick.

full on? enough copy cat/pop trance music, it died with Cosma (RIP).

Prog? that's house music you cocaine loving, homosexual!

...them "hi-tech/twilight" tunes are cheesy as shit, although people pretend the're not, and there are more breaks in the music, than there is an actual groove. yeah nice one mate, you're really good with the sequencer, trying dancing to your music some time....fucking geek.

suomisaundi? it should be contained withing the scnadinavian borders. its better that way, them scandos are weird anyway.

peace out.

and what about psychedelic? whats wrong with the main branche of all this styles?

Like I said, in my opinion there aren't enough psychedelic artists out there to fill a lineup. Most fall into a genre such as dh named.

You thing so? buf, looking the music offered in the main internet sellers maybe you are in true...
I hope anyway that there is more good music than we know, just this artists don´t are allowed to get this main festivals because the organizers only book the main names because they want more people.

Yes, there is!

You can discover a lot of it just by crawling through Soundcloud.
Here is what I do sometimes: pick a producer whose music you like (Koozer Mox, for example). Find him on Soundcloud. See what he’s been up to since his last release. Go to the right of the page and pick a name from the “Following” or the “Followers” list. Repeat the whole process. Many people you discover will be DJs with either nothing or long mixes on their pages – but those links are not always a waste of time: they will follow (and be followed by) producers with similar tastes.

Sometimes you stumble upon somebody interesting in just a couple of steps. Say, you saw that Koozer follows Wizack Twizack. You went to check out Wizack’s page. You immediately notice Mudpeople among his followers. Hmm, that name is familiar – I think I’ve seen it in the forum. You check him out and discover that he produced some interesting tracks (in Renoise, by the way). Two steps – and you discovered music most DJs and organizers never heard, plus you learned more about a fellow IsraTrancer. Cool? I surely think so!
