hi, can you please share some light on this subject ?
My Q' for you is....
HOW or DO YOU use LFO , in your basslines ?
Before you answer, I would like to be more specific....
I am only interested in the use of LFO in solid NON phase type bass sequences... ( I.E. - Not long filter sweeps or dramatic pitch changes)
I am also curious to know if you do not use any LFO at all .
thanks people ...

I don't...
If you're trying to add more groove to your basslines I think velocity controlled filtering is a better way to go....more accurate and flexibible I suppose.
Honestly I can't think of any other use for LFO's in psy 1/16 basslines...
Could be wrong tho... :lol

LFOing on basslines is nice sometimes.I use vstation for that and add a touch of lfo or mod. envelope on each oscillator.

i have used it once to great effect...
was a seondary bass pathc in my one tune...so it was a very squeeky turny kinda bass...which was created due to the added LFO...
so yea can be done

I also use tempo synced lfo on basslines alot. It can be the factor that makes the whole ting groove or not. |

Never used LFO on my bass and nevr will coz i like my bass fat and funky with no LFO that ruin the sound of the bass
on my leads, pads,fx even on the groove smoetims but never on my bass & kick
in dub music its ok to put LFO on your bass
coz you dont need to run kick all time(4/4)

Adrenal Mode - a Lfo can modulate lots of parameters...
like orange says... a synced Lfo can add some motion
you modulate either filter/reso/keyfollow/Pulsewidth.. ect ect....
well well...

a synced Lfo can add more motion to your track, I agree with that but
why modulate your bass if you can draw it in the way that you want it to be
I use velocity or just draw the reso & cutoff by my on , more fun and it's just sounds betthear
the drawing process do what the LFO can't do and this is why I don't use LFO on MY bass

True Adrenal mode, but sometimes LFO's will do something that you didn't think of by drawing it manuallly... Interesting bass grooves for instance that you wouldn't think to make yourself... It just depends on your personal knowledge. I like to hand draw my stuff too, but I have had some good experience using an LFO on my bassline for a couple of experiments.
