Yeah, the scissors are heavily used on patches where I manualy tweaked the pots, it takes a bit of time, but it's not the end of the world, there are no notes out of time by the time the tunes go to get cut. On patches where I automate VCFs/VCOs from Logic, I simply go back a couple of beats from the odd note that is out, and record another take.

Nowadays, I try to make random sounds by tweaking the knobs on Waldorf XT, Korg Prophecy, Novation Supernova 2, and Roland Jupiter 6, so I record the results on Roland S760 or PC. Later, I cut the interesting pieces of sounds and manipulate them using S760/EXS24/Halion sampler+Logic and tons of plug-ins. When I do that, I intend to come up with new textures/atmospherical/ambient sounds, stabs or something like that.
Today, I think the soft synths can make the same and I try to use a lot stuff like Absynth, FM7 and Z3Ta+. I tried the Albino demo and Blue and I love these ones as well.

I picked up a Waldorf Pulse, a Novation Bass station, and an Emu Xtreme Lead recently, they serve me well, and I really like them.           G+ - Army Collective - Kontakt Recordings
