Mp3 and Artists livin together.
No way to hide!
People downloading and sharing music in the internet.(this is not the TOPIC)
If you think the artists needs support, is not accumulating and counting cds you will do it.
What they can do beyond they already do?
What more we can do for them?
Please post in this forum, new ideas and ways to help and support them.

What do u think we could do,

besides

buying their albums
listening to their tunes
going to their lives if they come to our country

send them a bunch of flowers or a big cheque?

and why do u ask it?what does it make u think artists need help?

What could be better than doing the music you love, going around to beautifull places meeting beautifull people in order to play it, always getting paid for it

I think they are quite ok as they are

The only way for listeners & fans to support the artists, IMO, is to buy their stuff, book them for parties, or go to parties where they are booked.

Booking an artist obviously depends on being able (financially) to make a party, which few people can do. Especially if the artist is from far away. Going to see them in a party depends on them playing nearby, which is not very easy if you don't live in a city where psytrance is popular (or don't have money to travel). That leaves buying the artists' music as the only way of supporting that is widely accessible to most people.

I don't know what else one can do. Send them food in the mail so they don't have to buy it? Buy software and synths for them? Start a non-profit foundation that builds homes for artists so they don't have to pay rent? We can call it "Habitats for Hippies".

Seriously, though, the ability of artists (and labels) to survive by doing their art depends on people paying for their art, whether it be through CD sales or bookings.

One idea (serious) - I always see people suggesting that artists & labels should sell their music digitally online. While it is a good idea, most artists & labels don't have any time or manpower to do this themselves. If you (not specifically Kenji Dub, but people in general) truly don't have money to buy music, but want to help the artists, why not donate your time and web programming skills (if you have them) to help build such an interface? Time=Money. Help to give people the option to buy tracks online if they want to.

This still requires people to buy the music in the end. But if half the people who say they will buy individual tracks online actually did it, then you would be a big support to artists if you help them to actually sell them.

Hi friend, I guess nobody becomes an artist to earn money till they're rich. Everyone knows how low the sales of psytrance CD's are.
I guess that we, the music enjoyers, can only support our artists by buying their albums whenever we can and going to their parties. Also, we can make things better by educating the persons around us, giving the example.
Respect!

No one have never spoken about getting rich... I for one did never intend to get rich from trance.. I staretd to make the msuic because I love it and I still make music because I love it.... Not for any other reason... I have my daytime job that support em more than enough But at the end of the day when you've been in astudio for almost 6-8 months or even a year creating what you think is the ebst you can make at present time.... then it's not really fun to see that work (of art) being ripped off and downloaded....

So yes the deal is to support the artists you like by buying their music and whatever else you think is cool... Like going to their shows ect ect.... At the end of the day it's people that decide if an artists survive in the business or not.... No sales = godbye

The labels are only your best friends as long as your sucessfull and will very fast bet their money on a new horse. So if you wnat to see your favourite artist/band syrvive the game then supposrt them.... after all they give you many hours of enjoyment

ppl its not that hard. . .if you like an artist. . .buy their records. . .send A FEW traks to your friends who dont know trance and then they will buy their records. . .attend their gigs. . .speak well of them and if you really want to print a tshirt with their album cover on it. I just enjoying the music and pay my due to the one who created it. thats is the relationship btwn me and the artist. and that is how i support it!!!!!!! Spread the word about them, tell other people how much you like them. Ask party promoters to book them. Buy their CDs, their MP3s, whatever ! Always remember that what you hear and makes you feel so good is the result of much, much hard work, often years and years...
