i concur with most people here, for fun and with the hope of getting people to listen to my music... I don't care whether i make money with it, but it would be nice... The possibility of becoming a good musician has to exist for me though, if i wouldn't have any hope of ever making music that me or other people would like i wouldn't do it anymore...

I'm not sure I understand the question.

j/k... but for me it's always been something I've just 'done' - since I was 16 it's been part of my natural functioning, like breathing.          Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

The creation process is filled with frustrations and difficulties - but it's the complete creation feeling which gives me probably the reason of it being worth the trouble.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

i think it's like that for all people who make music... otherwise they wouldn't bother... It is hard to do, and u will never earn as much money as you would if u learn something else that's easier (example: creating simple win32 applications with C++). So if u make music it HAS to be because u feel the urge to make music (or to get chicks, but it doesn't work, believe me unless u buy a guitar...)

no funny, no money...

i guess it is a little bit of both, because it would be nice earning your money doing something you have fun doing... am i right?

music touches people different ways.

i guess if you're the creative type and listen to music you'll at some point try to make some music too.

reaching "professional level" is hard, but when someone is commited to learning and spending large amounts of energy and time working towards this goal, it's possible for everyone.

becoming a well paid producer is another totally different subject, maybe just a matter of delivering what labels ask for.

being famous is just a question of having enough publicity but remember that you can became famous for stuff you dont want to be known for (ehehhee)
