do u spend some time designing new sounds for your tracks ?
or you just buy packs and use them over and over and over and over again ?

recently when i found myself short of some sweeps and reverses and some sci fi sounds
i sat one day and started making them and it was quite easy ...
those of you who don't make their sounds should give it a try it's very easy just work of 2 minutes for each sound...
i'm sure many of you must have made some sounds also... would like to hear from you ppl and your techniques of course

Sound FX are like candy, I just hit record with some midi data playing and then start twisting knobs. Then I go back and cut out the interesting parts. Pitch-bend, timestretch, EQ, and compression are all that's left. Maybe some other effects like delay etc.

wow thanx for fast replies ....
@ Faxi Nadu : good to see bro that u spend so much time for fx

@ Fuzzkitten : tht's wat i wanted to know bro i know fx are like candy but still takes time in making them crispy candies with proper processing like eq,comp....
basically everything what we use for an ordinary track...

@ Fragletrollet : why don't you use old sounds and make new sounds out of it ?
i'm sure you've done that

Some time i do for my files/folders collection if i got the right mood for but usualy just made them as a part of the track and at the same time im working on it .

As Fragletrollet say 'Samples are great for inspiration' - true , But i like them new & fresh and when they fit 100/100 to the atmospheric of an each track and on the right creation and idea , No need going to the past when we are looking to the future .

+1!!

right on the spot brother!
i think its better to have sounds that is never been heard before, sumthing diferent..
To me this is psychedelic, and u are rite it doesnt take much time at all....

I usually start by making some patches for my favourite VST... its usually Albino, or Legacy cell or sumthing like that...
Then i make riffs and bounce them to wave, then chop FX and sample them....          [[[G|L|I|T|C|H]]]
