correct me if im wrong...but unlike 'rock',or 'ambient' ive always felt about psy trance, that you tend to 'move on' with the music.
I was wondering if you guys listen to older music as much as you listen to newer stuff? &
Why is it that most music you buy today.. you hardly listen to a few months later, it more or less fades out..

Well i recently bought 2 Flying Rhino comps.
And im listenin to Hallucinogen -Trancepotter as i write this  .
The way i look at it, some tracks are timeless, and some arent. ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~ |

is still one of the best comp's ever... listening to it very often, maybe because of many thoughts which are stick to it...

this is very true,but i think it happens to all kinda music nowdays!especially in electronic music where you have that huge number of producers,but in any genre you see this!
IMO its kinda sequence of the overconsuming society so we have to live with it!

This is really cool like why does some music remain forver and some music does not?
For me this is the only music that counts, all the music that fades away is not good enough to be called music for me it's just sounds...Why is it that classical music lives forever? Why because it's music, it's theory is intricate and because it has FEELING and EXPRESSION which is done with careful love and care from a composer some one who is only into that like and wants to give his audience and experience. This is why i like chillout today also because it has feeling and expression and is really well composed...

i've just found my cd copies of first flight, tip - phosphoressence; the 1st 2 cosmosis albums, space tribe - sonic mandala and the mindfield double cd (amongst others)... i'm like a pig in shit now

And. What you like now might not be as good as it once used to be. You change, but the music you really loved with your soul in the past will remain in the present. Let's hope for the future.

Do you mean old as in "classics" old, or just something that is for example "last year"?
I listen to classics. Last month i thinned out a Prana CD. I have Chakra and Edi Mis - The promised land, a bootleg CD and there are clicks in the tracks but i still enjoy it. Too bad i can't find that CD.

Absolutely amazing track from COP at that time and a good example of feeling in the music it's not just every sound is good! Even Future Sounds of london older albums not trance but still music made with meaning with an intent of sound and feeling, real music i mean.
you may sometimes have music which will make you feel good at that time and then it wears off but by time you arrive to a level were even the first sound tells you that it's not the same...There is a certain frequency in the melody that is there forever and once you learn or by experience you arrive to it you will achieve a certain type of conciousness that you sort of know which is which! It's music made purely from a great hearth, let's take another example of not so old but Cosma music will be there forever also and again this is because it has a certain feeling and quality that it takes you somewere beautiful, mystic, happy and sad...for me this is trance.
