While it is unarguable that studio monitors/headphones provide for more accurate mixing/monitoring, their flat frequency response makes the music sound dull and uninteresting...

When I first listened to my favourite tunes through a set of studio headphones, I thought that I would never enjoy it.. the "true" bass is so thin and lacking, so are the highs..

I wonder if those of you who have some real experience in using studio headphones/monitors ever grew accustomed to the flat sound as to enjoy it?

I'm regular to the sound of it... therefor I can enjoy it.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Ok, what I really meant to ask was do you listen to your favourite tunes through your studio headphones / monitors directly, without any equalizer tweakage? Or do you prefer boosting the lows and highs on your amp (or in your fav software player)?

What is your favourite equalizer setting?

When I first listened to some well-known trakcs through studio monitors / headphones without any eq in the path (presumably), I realized how badly mixed they were... but with the permanent lows/highs boost on my hi-fi, they had seemed just fine..

So, how do you prefer it, phat or flat?

ird,

flat.,
for me, good music sounds fat on monitors., realy makes them work., i describe it to myself as more controlled pressure., or cleaner dynamics.,, or something

Hey, sorry for the lack of knowledge, but what is the difference between studio headphones and regular/DJ headphones?

And why do monitors have "flatter" sound than regular speakers? what is it good for? (just curious)           Mighty Fat Records
