I played guitar for about six years and have a Grade 1 in music theory from high school, so I understand the basic tip of the iceberg, but that's about it.

Learning as I'm going along, which is probably the best practice.

Started on drums for about a year, then moved to guitar (19 years now and counting) where I had about 3 years of formal playing and theory lessons followed by enrolling in a year long professional musicians' program where basically we spent 6-8 hours a day studying music theory, our instrument of choice and everything music in general. Also concurrent with that was about 4 years of constant band work and also helping a friend of the family build a professional recording studio where afterward I got to hang out and use whenever there weren't artists booked in. Back in those days I pretty much lived and breathed music 24 hours a day. Then I had to up and go to university proper and move to a completely different country where I have to work all the time because of my visa.           New Album: Jikkenteki - Flights Of Infinity

Been playing piano for years but never took any graded exams, so last year I took 3 exams, but I've gone back to college this year so haven't had time to practice. Hope to pass at least grade 6 by the end of next year.

Not that I need the exams, but its nice to have a recognised achievement.

at school where i`d belt out macho man randy savage , mr perfect and the undertaker theme tunes .. and i guess it kinda shows in my mostly crappy attempts at music so far ! .. but things are looking up .. just yesterday i managed to recreate the `power of Celtic` tune on my midi keyboard ... someday ill make a nice song ,, just u wait and see (but dont hold your breath) ..
