and sometimes it sounds wtf is this crap?
i am realy not satisfied with my stuff yet

This.

I get really frustrated after working on a project for several days then realize it doesn't sound as good as i wanted... makes me want to start over again. Prolly the main reason why i usually stop most of my tracks in progress...

Sometimes i have what i think are terrific ideas, i lay them out then get job done just to realize it sucks... i hate that feeling of just wanting to rip off that piece of paper.

I must admit my production has improved a lot anyway but i still don't get where i want to and sometimes i just don't know what i'm lacking of.

Although sometimes I really enjoy listening my music some other times I just find it annoying... also when showing it to somebody else most of the time i feel it doesn't cause the effect i was aiming for when producing but that can derive from the fact i usually show works in progress.

In 5 years learning this stuff i've just finished around 7 tracks and I just like one of them and there are parts i know can get much better.

it depends.
when i listen to my sound alone i really enjoy it, because i know what i wanted to do, even if it doesn't reach the efficiency i expected.

but with other people, it's like if i was listening with their ears, i can hear all weak points (and there are a lot) much more directly than alone.

well, I still havent finished my first track (altho its not long anymore for that.), so i cant say anything about finished tunes.

In my actual project tho I tested all the elements I had in a kind of mini-arrangement, to see which fit with which...I really enjoyed listening to that,a s it was the first stuff I created which sounded like real music I still enjoy it, and hopefully will still do that when the real arrangement is done....

I think its good to not be happy about it, and constantly want to do better or like Disco say make a remix of a old track that you think miss something.

Learning from this is to keep organized projects with all files available for further manipulation and recreation.

Work work work...

but to answer the question, of course on a good day i enjoy my own work, i mean on the bad days when i dont, its just depressing so if i felt that all the time i wouldnt be doing music.

Then on the other hand if others enjoy what i do, well some friendly people lie to me and say they like it, haha im just happy i can live with those lies
But someday i will make pure liquified music. Thats my goal, to make music that grabs you and take you on a journey where you forget the outside world...

So its always good to have a high set goal and work for that... just like Disco, now Etnica plays his tracks, that's just wonderful and well worth all the time spent on improving and making music....

And to bring some context into it all, personally i think you can like or dislike something cause of the mood you are in. and than nothing is good enough

By the time it's finished, I've heard it quite enough... After a while it's ok but then you moved on when it comes to soundquality and mixdown. Sometimes I really like old tracks as for composition but not for sound. Then I want to remix them but then the unique 'sparkle' is lost and I give up. I'm too old lol...           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog

Well , Dont realy sure that the word 'Enjoy' is the right one to describe it , How you can still enjoy the tunes you just have heard like 3,000 times when workt on , Today i usualy think of an new creation like somthing more technical .. I can enjoy the sound (Because sound always get better and better at the time) but im not in high , Happy , Scream or jump to the ceiling with every sound i made , Not at all , Never . And i can agree with Bandarlog that the first music we have made years before , Ours virginal music its the best and coming from our soul but then time and the years took that innocence away from us and when you hear them some time can make an good memory's but go back at the time and work on a track from the time u have just start .. I think its a waste of time . But this is life , We have look ahead .. The future is the future .. We have to learn from the past but to leave him behind and concentrate of what we are doing now .

Last night I listened to a couple of my tracks that I don't particularly remember creating - was pretty happy with the results considering my experience level, and even happier that I got some ideas for 'fixing' my basslines and other stuff that I maybe didn't know at the time

I still haven't remixed any of my tracks yet though, I should probably do that....maybe combine all the good parts from my tracks and siphon off the shite and I might have one killer track jokes of course...

hehe i have been thinking that as well.. there is few parts in my horrible first tracks that actually sounds pretty wicked. could be a cool idea to snatch all of those and make one nice hit of that shit =) but i never had the energy to do that tho, and probably never will. I think they should rest in peace.

My new tunes i like to listen to for sure, but i was more happy couple years ago when i thought i made a nice track, nowdays i use to listen to them in the car, ipod just to check if there is anything that i should add remove fix etc.. technical issues.
cheers!

There's always something about my tunes I enjoy. Can't expect to be satisfied with 100% of the track, but as long as there's some amount of enjoyment I know I'm on the right course. Getting to play out my tracks and seeing people respond to them is when I really enjoy them . A lot of the enjoyment I get from producing music is from seeing/hearing people enjoy my stuff, because in the end, that's the goal.          http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I oscillate between thinking we make the best goddam music on the planet, to knowing in my bones the whole thing is pointless and I should give up and go and work in a supermarket.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
