Oh many times i felt watched or that someone was in the room, That i was not alone.
To be a little deep and mystic
Sometimes i think that the spirit of all musicians are traveling around and checking out what we do, enjoy it and give their energy to us!
But also there are this perspective that when you listen to sound for long time your ears become sensitive and also you become sensible for psycho-acoustic phenomenons, Like Zabot is saying.
You can twist and turn and believe in what you want
I like to think that Sometimes great music spirits are close to us when we create, or simply a divine power that loves sounds and music and want us all to create something wonderful.
And no i am not on drugs

Listen to Ludvico Einaudi, That is so divine
You know music really makes me feel like i am not alone at all! When listening to a great piece of music i can feel the oneness, Everyone would gather around it and sit quite and just be absorbed by it...

Damn man! Oltremare is one my all time favourites when it comes to piano music. Proves that music doesn't need to be complex to be enjoyed. Really simple, elegant, beautifull. Respect

Honestly, I don't understand how anyone likes Einaudi.
I honestly feel it is the absolute antithesis of good piano writing. My personal taste is that it is trite, saccharine, maudlin, bilge.
It actually pains me to think that other people are advocating this as an example of good piano writing.
BUT I do recognise that there is no such thing as 'good taste' or 'bad taste' in music, I do respect your tastes.
I just wanted to stick up a flag really. This isn't where I want music to go. In fact, I'm not even sure that I'd categorise it as music, personally ...

Fair play, but to me, that sentence has overun by 50%.
Yikes. You want decent keyboard writing? Get into Chopin, late Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Bach, Schumann or Rachmaninov - not this third rater!

Chopin is the best. Hands down.
Einaudi is chilly music. Can't be really categorized with classical. But it's good background music, you don't have to concentrate to it like you have to do with great classical compositions. Put the hate down this thread was about tripping.

Speakafreaka - So, there must be more that you can say than this.
Is it about the technical aspect? as emotion and technical aspects such as composition and arrangement sometimes has a greater value than simplicity and emotion for some people.
I can agree much of einaudi´s pieces are simple in technique but high on emotion and expression. You dont have to agree with me but this is my opinion,
Of course i value both smart composition and arrangement, And also simplicity and emotional expression.
And of course its much harder to play a sophisticated, technical piece with emotional expression. So it takes a skilled musician to do it..
I think we all understand each other, but simple things can be divine in my opinion

The brain has a natural affinity for finding the beat in repetitive sounds and it naturally assigns downbeats. Most commonly in groups of two (the simplest/shortest bar time signature)
Each 'beat' may literally SOUND different, but they are in fact exactly the same. You can prove this when you loop a very simple set of sounds (Kick / Hat). If you listen very carefully, you may feel that one kick is naturally louder than the following/preceding one.
It's just a psychoacoustic mental effect.

I started doing this to trip myself out, so of course
Just now actually, I managed to get my Daft Punk remix sounding niiiiice. What trips me out partly is that the synth that is now the squidgey analogish line, started out as the main melody carrier, and is now FMed out moog-ish liquid.
And I found a way to work the original riff of The Grid in in a way that sounds good Im very pleased. And tripped out that I MADE that WONDERFUL lead so satisfyingly...
