or do you cut the bass to make room for the kick?

Right now i'm making some pretty darkpsy with the machinegun bassline, so i was tyring to cut the bass to make some room for the kick, so it's not "floating" on top.

am i crazy?

Are you implying that one can't pan a mono signal?

hhh
bad idea to pan them anyway

i make the sidechain to actualy effect the EQ rather then compression (low shelf bouncing down with the kick) so i can leave the high freqs of the bass

sometimes holes are just cool too.. specialy that mid in kicks out.. and sometimes i like the effect of deep v shape notch on 110-150hz for bass          www.sattelbattle.com

I tried to tell the Beatles producer that. Looks like he ignored me.

I always heard that kick and bassline should mono and centered, side chained, you can still add a eq for the kick and the bass, don't forgot in psytrance in geral the main thing are the kick and bass, in beatles are the voice, but there are no rules.
