Some tracks give you the feeling of power, strenght, beauty or... but at the same time you feel there's kinda drama in it.

Do producers feel sad or down when they make such tracks? I mean does the style of the music you making, depend on your personality and character OR it's more up to how feel at the time of making that music?

P.S. didn't search before asking, so pls don't kill me if the topic has already been there. thnx.

sometimes you're feeling depressed and start to write depressing music that somehow turns out to be beautiful uplifting music and at other times you're happily writing a track that turns out very aggressive. and everything in between...
it depends on who is in charge you (forcing the track into resembling the vision you had) or the music (letting the music surprise you and possibly giving up the original idea). i prefer mostly sitting shotgun           "no one ever sweats on a plug-in" -moby

when i was about 5 i remember discovering my parent's collection of The Cure. inside the album 'Wish', there's a quote from Shelley:

Quote:
Our sweetest songs are those that tell our saddest thoughts

that always stuck with me i'm a very positive, optimistic and happy person... but as a producer i make a lot of melancholy music. like Outolintu / Overflow i find that 'sad' means uplifting for me. when something is beautiful and tinged with sadness it just flicks my switch.

For me also listening to sad is beautiful and i enjoy it very much, but I thought maybe the producer is almost crying while making it, that's why I asked

Thnx guys for sharing your thoughts

well. i've only made one "positive" kind of song to date. but that tune is not really happy either....it's more kind of solacing.

when i'm feeling fine and everything is alright, i don't get ideas...i just don't get into creative mood. it's more or less impossible to concentrate on the tune then. when i feel fine i think about sitting outside in nature, having fun with friends etc, but not about making music. hence when i make sad tracks, i feel sad indeed. maybe not all the time, but the general state of mood is melancholy or sadness.
