I am not a Christian and I have not for along long time been into the cliche wannabe hippy Religious use of symbols in this scene... and aliens...nahh not really my cup tea too.. I like the music for the music's sake. WITHOUT all these stupid symbols attatched to it.
Yes I am also quilty of using those "cool" religious symbols a long time ago when i was blasted away on too many drugs and thought we all loved eachother and eternal whatever. But I woke up 
But come on now... When was this scene ever about Goatheads, the devil etc?
Some of you newcommers or late starters haven't got a clue about what the scene originated from! It's sure not Goatheads and evil oh so dark metaphores. If it ever originated from anything it was to spread joy and light... not Beelzebub and his merry friends
But indeed go ahead and be "cool", "special" and "revolutionary" and use your symbols and smart track titles to attract more kiddos to buy the music (or download it)... Soon it's just as fashionable as Shivas, drug references and Marsians...!
Wonder why people and the Authorities think we're a bunch of freaks on too much drugs

That is your opinion If you like the music for the music sake, why are you so hung onto the names. I am not a new-comer to this scene and I trully understand from where it originated from.
You just keep on stereotyping something you can't begin to understand for some reason. The only time I was in a "dark" trance party that I saw some evil deco was in halloween... And it was as evil as every front loan in the area. Otherwise I just see incredible paintings and great mandalas. Where did you see this symbols?
I do not think religious symbols are cool. They are part of an incredibly complex source of mythological wisdom. Denying its wealth, wether you believe in them or not is just ignorant.
Also I thought this was psychedelic trance... I mean PSYCHEDELIC trance. I think we are adults here and we know what we are doing, right? |

What about Goa (baba)Gill who makes his own sacred ritual when he plays in a party and hunt mantras to clean the cosmic spirit and exorcize the demons.A christian friend told me that Gill is doing black magic,but me disagree and believe that goa gill is such a spititual father and feels better when he purifies the atmospher.
I baphtised christian and I love and respect Jesus and also love lucifer and like listen to the darkest and most evil tunes.Everything it is up to our minds and how we think.So if I afraid that dark music is going to make me possesed,than yes maybe it could...so think positive to create a shelter against to any one who might be energy sucker vampier...or act like the hindu goddess Kali who fight against the mighty demons with her wild demonic face...

No I am not religious which I believe I also said quite a few times here but I started this topic and made it very clear that the debate was about track titles and symbols and NOT the music.. Yet people constantly refer it to the music... I just wish people would stick to the topic or at least not twist my words and the point of this thread which got nothing to do with the music itself. |

um they give them dark/evil track titles because the music is supposed to be dark/evil? do you call a track title like "a new way to say hooray" just a fad to get the kiddies to buy the music because it's light/happy? no? so why do the same thing for something because it's dark/evil/whatever.

Please HandA...you are getting too much again...please spare us that patronising crap.
I don't know if you think you are some kind of Goa Gill because you started releasing music in the mid 90's and I sure don't know where you partied in that time considering how you view the roots of the scene.
You have to realise that you are speaking about your personal preference.
Both when it comes to the music and what symbolics to use.
Or sorry, rather that you shouldn't use symbolics at all bacuse it's soo "pseudo-hippy".
Maybe you should realise that the trance scene is a pseudo hippy scene.
If you don't like that fact I cannot understand why you have to spend most of your time in trance forums complaining about that you don't like it.
There is other scenes like for example house without any hippy influence and without dark music and I'm sure they have forums as well.
Go there and spread som good vibes instead of spending you time here laying down on us all what you think is crap about the trance scene.
Noone is forcing you to listen to dark music or buy covers with symbols you don't like....but you really seem like you think you should tell people what music they should make or what they should name their tracks to be part of the scene.
Just wake up to the fact that it's absolutley none of your business if people like to use the word "hell" in a track title.
And I still don't understand what you possible could see as the problem if some people do...whats it to you man?
What really gets to me is that you start accusing people of being "newcommers or late starters" because they don't agree with your personal view of the origins.
I'm no "newcommer or late starter" myself, and I percive things very differently than you for sure.
When I got into Goa trance around 1990 it was loads of very dark influences in the night music, most the music coming from EBM and industrial music.
Most darkpsy today sound like disco if you compare to many cassette tapes I collected at the time.
A lot of the tracks had Hitler shouting and agitating as samples to wip up a really evil vibe and when the Iraq war was breaking out there was parties in Goa with full bloody war theme decorations.
To quite an effect in combination with the very strong punch I must add.
Why that was has been explained time after time in this thread.
The reason has been to help people work thru their aggressions and fears during the night to meet the morning clear from those feelings and capable to fully enjoy the light part of a party.
To be willing to investigate and become aware of the evil sides of reality is not about being evil.
Normally being evil actually comes from trying to fight what you belive is evil.

Ok so about symbols.What symbols?Did i miss anything?I dont see any covers with pentagrams and reversed crosses.Any artists on corpsepaint and blood.You havent seen dark titles and symbols if you havent explored the chaos of Black Metal.Believe me.
Darkness in trance scene is still expressed in a very nice poetic way.I'll tell you this and remember it:thats nothing.

Hello there,
I have a question that probably some of you will think its idiotical question but i will ask it anyway...
especialy in the last period of time trance partys decorated with alot of monsters scultures and paintings ,and demons and some kinds of indian "gods".
i am in the trance business for many years and i remember that at first the decorations was about colors and good atmosphere..in personal i dont find it amusing to go parting and look at monsters or devilish atmosphere all around me..i am missing the good feeling..everything look too much drugy and scary...some of the audiance evev looks like zombi themself and its look like party in hell(in most of the cases latly)
do you realy find it amuse to go in get radical confuse in partys under the effect of...because i don't ..
so my idea for good party and vibes is:
why not leave all the "gods" and the monsters and the demons and the scarry stuff outside the party and make a comeback to colorfull and intelegent decoration for a good health fun vibe?
it even fits better to a nature view and better effect on whatever u do or take..
