I dont know about artists since i am not one of them but labels are obliged to pay taxes otherwise they cannot ship their products out of the country with no official papers and receipts and in general cannot sell their products in any stores even in their own country.
Ofcourse like Zmadan wisely mentioned very few labels sell enough so that they got to pay taxes in the end of the year.

Personally I think that this is one of the examples of taking the friendly forum feel a little too far, since it's none of your business ( don't get it personal nothing against you here, but you have asked the question ) and more over it's not the business of all the people that read through this topic with all due respect to them too.
But back to the original quastion, the answer is definite YES, since it is bad idea to get messy with tax people, there is no chance to get well out of this

well its a general question, just out of curiosity. I'm specially curious about Party organizers to know if the proceeds are even taxable? If you feel its not my business to ask, or that others to read, you'd rather not post and save the trouble.. i have no intention of invading your privacy and all that

Offcourse in India party organizers never pay taxes if its an outdoor party
But in places like Brazil, Japan and Israel where you have huge masses of people attending parties im almost certain they pay taxes because the revenue these parties rake in is quite high.
