I got electricity enineering degree and I wanna expand my mind with first degree in something that would be more or less interesting for me, haven't decided exactly what yet.
Currently I'm working to get money for bread, it takes almoust all of the time and the free moments are mostly for rest. Also the inspiration got smashed by this, so its pretty hard. I guess with studyings it's the same. But I'm positive, I'm making my own path, and my soul is calm.

i study business information systems and its realy hard to make some trax besides of it. i now have found a way to combine both things and sit every free minute here behind the sequencer, but they are realy rare.
i sometimes whish a day would have 48 hours. but thats the wrong way...
you need to find out the secret of expressing yourself in the relative word of time. |

I have a masters degree in electrical engineering although when i was studying i didn't do much music- just pluck a few notes on the guitar once-in-a-while. Since then the creative urge has taken over and am between day jobs. So, the music and travelling is where i spend my time, until i need to get another day job. I just build up my savings, then quit. I don't know about a full-time job in the music industry, especally if i have to spend 8+ hours a day working and listening to other peoples music then come home and work on mine. The ears get tired you know.
Sometimes an easy, non-gratifying, well-paying, day job is best. That makes it easy to come home and work on music. The downside is that many of your most waking and creative moments are spent at work, then you come home later and try to recover those ideas, typically in the night.

The music business is pretty wide, you dont ever have to work on others material if you dont want to
a day job is nice, gives a steady income, but having all days to work on music in a well prepared well setup studio is more fun
as i see it, if you really put your mind and soul in making sounds and understanding sounds, then you got a very wide area to work in, and should not be bored sometime soon..
but i think working with other stuff gives you the urge to do what you love, so maybe its good to take some substitute jobs
and always expand your knowledge, i dont think locking your self up in a studio will be fun for too long, i mean colaborating, organizing projects, make things happen, thats where the fun is...
i would say that working half time would be best if you want time to make music, fulltime is too demanding.
