Hi,
So since everyone was getting into it - I decided to jump onto the band wagon and make a track - please have a listen and impart some of your constructive critism onto me. A few things:
1. I havent mastered this track yet - so please bare with the production flaws ( specially the Hiss)
2. I have shitty monitors - so if you pick up something that i would have obviously missed - please be kind to let me know.

like the didgeridoo sound to start... voice from where? bouncey as fuck !
nice fx.... straight down to business.... like the build.... tweeeeeeeeky
plucky guitar sound is very nice... smart melody, like the way u switch layers... sounds almost progressive @ times
3:50 explodes into more bounce well chosen samples...... phew
i enjoyed it, tho u can tell it isn't mastered, i have to say amazing work.... creAtive !

@indiaalien - yeah its terrence Mckenna - from a TV interview he took back way back when. Dont know about an albumn though - this was my first track ever. But ill keep u informaed
@babla - theres a reason the track is not matered yet  |

ok...
first i would like to say i love EXPERIMENTAL stuff
and this is what this track is.....
i dont think it is psytrance and i would not play it in a gig.....the kick has heavy reverb if im not wrong, it does not have a lot of power, the bassline is very funky but again its not a bassline that would make me dig(personal taste)... my general feeling is that u dont have a proper studio....soundcard,monitor etc.
and that is why the mix is dirty....it may allso be a mater of lack of experiance....
NOW back to the words i started with...i love EXPERIMENTAL stuff and thats the reason i enjoyed your work(even if u didnt mean it ) i enjoy hearing stuff that does not fallow any genere or "rules" the mix is underground (like reggae/dub)
and the sound u use are what ever the hell u want them to be....
hope i am not to harsh....im trying to give u pointers so u can do it better next time(or stay experimental and fuck the world)

@djnomolos: not harsh - thats honest - personally Id rather you be honest - that way I can learn from what I am doing worng. Just to add - you are right i am using a bad sound card and bookshelf speakers as monitors - that is something thatll only change after i have some cash inflow - experience well I am just going to have to work hard to get that one. Thanks for the words - they were very helpful. |
