Try one of the many many commercialized Festivals in Europe and you'll see
I speak from what I have seen the scene grow into. I know some think I speak wrong and some even get angry when I speak my mind. But hey, I speak the way i see it.
And you really can't compare a small 300 people event in USA (a very different scene than the one in Europe, Israel, Australia, South America and ASIA) to commercialized 25.000 - 30.000 people multi-day "Rock concert style" Festivals this scene has been invaded with.
I know there are small underground events everywhere too but let's face it. The scene's "Face" to the outside World are the many commercial festivals and not the small local events. www.beatagency.dk |

These are not rock concerts, true. But that does not mean that if there are applause then there is automatically ego and star-worship. I applaud people because they did a great job and took me somewhere, and if that's ego and worship then I'm a fan of ego and worship.

I think the same...
and
What's wrong with rock concerts???

Nothing BUT this is Trance - not Rock music and the name itself explain the HUGE difference. If you are out to experience a rock concert go to a rock concert (I do and like it). But trance is all about (well duhhhh) "trance".

A lot of people go to parties to get into the music and reach a state of trance (It's fun to them). Not to be in a "hands in the air" rock concert environment where whistling, shouting and applause happens every 2 hours. www.beatagency.dk |

I agreed that we have many "hands in the air" today...but totally disagree when u say if someone refuse to mix with next/before artist, that one its the super-ego-bla bla bla...
The problem is not the pause, or the hand in the air...the problem is the people intention...
If your intention its show your face and get a 30sec claps, then the pause its a problem...but if you dont have this intention, and just wanna dont mix your history with another, cause you think the mix dont fit... for example, then, pause isnt a problem...

A pause is a pause no matter what the intention is.

Beat Agency need to understand the these massive festivals are not the place for real "trance" state. You might as well go to a rock concert.
It always has been and always will be the smaller under ground party where the magic happens.
And if people feel like clapping, whistling or shouting with joy that's fine with me if it makes them happy.

I already stated what you say I do not understand But you can not hide the fact that the "Face" of the trance scene is promoted via huge commercial "rock alike" Festivals and not small local parties.

Yeah, from what we read here in Isratrance and in Psynews (as Elysium), Kristian is the artist who should be taken as the parameter and benchmark of what psychedelic trance stands for.
Do you know that magical party where you applauded, or got applauded, because the set was sooo good? It was just crap, according to him.
Call it an ultra ego. Ridiculous. |

So why do you care what happen at the massive? Just like you don't care what happen at rock concert.
If the huge commercial massive is the "face" then the "backside" is where it is at so get there. |

Not sure what ""Face" of the trance scene" and how it is "promoted via huge commercial "rock alike" Festivals" have to do with the topic at hand. Are we discussing psytrance PR or pauses between DJs?
Or should I interpret that post as "Here in Europe people worship DJs in Mega-Festivals, while there in America they give thanks in forest parties"

It goes hand in hand. Those Festivals promote a hands in the air/applause attitude = gaps between sets - and are seen as "the face of psytrance" in the general public.

Why is it wrong to debate in your opinion? I do not have to be part of Big festivals in order to debate them.
