I always let the track from the guy before me end and give him a clap and I ask the same for myself...I do not feel guilty for this at all...it's a show of respect and it marks the start and the end of your story which has a beginning and an end...I also clap as a thank you to the audience for listening and I do not feel this to be an ego thing at all

Yes , Sure , Im 100% with Mr. Dovla , Yes .. Why to be a 'Dick' ? Each one taking his time , Do what he want but at the same time remeber to be considerate with other , Listen .. Party its not a war , This is must be an place with an good peoples , So you said the dj think he came to any kind of fight area , Well .. Dont think so and i think thats all in your mind - I mean you are exaggerate . Sure theres storys here and there but they are few and i have also one but this is an 1% of 100 (In more then 20 years) i ever saw . Yea .. Ones , Maybe 15 years ago we go some producers to play in party (Nature) And we had 1 joint for 3 of us So was Dj Dede there too .. And he want to smoke (With us ..) , So we tald him we are realy sorry but we are 3 so we dont have enough to share , So later when one of us go to stage Dede ignore him and keep playing , But in the end all was good . This story is so so far so i let myself releast it out but as i already said before this is 1 in 100 .

Good energys always do the work ..

+ 1

but i understand the concept behind 3 or 4 hours of constant music flow with no interruptions. That being said when i'm in the audience i like to hear the intro and outro of each artist.

i dont think its too snooty of a dj to have his own start and finish without mixing in with the preceeding and proceeding sets ... the first and the last tracks play a special significance to any set

i can understand the need for continuous flow of music - what might be cool is to have a ping pong session of a few tunes between sets i guess that works well for djs who go with the flow on their sets...

anyways back to the point though,
i dont think its a bad to have that slight 'breather' between two sets, to appreciate the end of one journey and brace oneself for the next journey

IMO, a pause between the DJs/artists is necessary, or else, in most cases you won't know that a DJ has already left the stage. It is also a moment when you can thank (or not) the DJ for his set. It's respectful, we need that. I am saying this from my on-the-dancefloor point of view. As a DJ I just can't mix in from the previous DJ, as my setlist is completely different from most DJs and I also don't let the next DJ to mix in in my last track, as I finish it with an ambience. I really don't care about clappings, but I do mind that my set tells a history with a prologue-middle-and a epilogue.

Also, psy parties always had this break. I only saw ininterrupt music in parties with 18-years-old DJs, or a little older than that.

well, pretty much every party that i've been to in usa, there's a continuous flow, never a STOP dead silence..at least ambient to ambient outro/intro...it's encouraged at all the gatherings i've been playing at...to each their own, if you happen to be around the south, come see how we do it.            WARNING: The Reality Master General has determined that Mr. Vomit may significantly alter your reality. Say for yourself and the parties where played. I have been to parties since 1994 and in 9 out of 10 of them I saw breaks. BTW, I have never seen you live. That must explain it. And, please, don't behave as the holder of truth ("not at all true"). The world is way bigger than your navel. Stop looking at it and inferring the rest of the world from what wonders you see from there.

I played constantly all over the world from 1994 to 2002 and 9/10 parties (Outdoor and indoor) never had gaps.

I dont pretend to be anything I am just saying it as I experienced it. Maybe you partied more local (Russia?). So drop the attitude thanks           www.beatagency.dk

FYI, Kristian, I experienced the rich, gorgeous Japanese scene. The land of one of the best psychedelic scene in the world, to this day.

Attitude? Look at yourself in a mirror. You're quite famous for posing as the sole man in the world who knows everything. And beyond.

I played in Japan 2 times and both parties had no breaks whatsoever.

It can be debated if Jaoan is the best psychedelic scene in the World. But peace with your opinion           www.beatagency.dk

Well said, parties where YOU played. Parties that I went, such as the legendaries Blue Moon, Blissdom, LTS, Aurora Psychedelica, with BIG names and an wonderful atmosphere, they had breaks.

I am in peace. It's you who is always involved in imbroglios with everybody, about everything.

I'm strongly against breaks because they break the trance state in my experience. Just a matter or priorities I guess.

You know , In a big festivals wheres many attraction around and peoples , I went in 2004 to 'Beresheet' Festival was 24 ,000 , And you have prospectus , So you can go with/See when/Where all happen - 5-6 stages) , So we go to Sun Project (At 20:00 in the evening) Then we had Wizzy Noise at 22:00 And Christof/Absolum/3Division at 24:00 , When theres 15 minutes between the 'Concerts' .

This is all not matter , Pause/Stop .. Who care .. I can read here peoples who writing an life project storys/Doctorate about , If there is there is , If not not , Nothing happen , This is not so important , Can be nice but imo no need making an scientific inmost depth about No one get in the end of the day an 'Merit Certificate' here . Dont stuck on nonsense - Move on , This issue will not taking you to any place .. Just bla bla bla .. Not more , Will sure not make your produce or your sound be better .
