for me no problem with pauses...

I was there and was impossible keep the flow between both artists...

I like the pauses and knowing when someone has finished.

I don't think I could handle the Cosmo 10 hour set or a Goa Gil 24 hours master blaster dark core set, but someone who worked a long set of all psy styles flowing in together would be amazing.

This is something I specialize in but there are very few opportunities to play such long sets at big events. It is a wonderful thing when it happens though!

flow is very important when organizing the event...it's CRUCIAL that there's a progression....i've been to parties where it's one off's and it's awful...

you spend all the time and energy making the party, spend even MORE time making sure the lineup flows until the very end.....

i only say this because i DO make parties, and do lineups.            WARNING: The Reality Master General has determined that Mr. Vomit may significantly alter your reality. Usage of the knowledge provided by Mr. Vomit may be perceived as dangerous and subversive by those in authority.

Same here, and everyday i see less time for DJ sets... 1 hour and 20 minutes in my opinion it's enough.

more time will be also really interesting, on the "alternative Areas" could be more easy to Achieve that but it's just a conjecture.

I actually live having the break in between sets. It gives you knowledge that the DJ is changing, giving a chance to scream / clap for that set. And then if the lineup is posted.. you can tell who is play at the moment.

Plus, that 30 seconds of silence brings you back slightly to reality and when the first beat of the new DJ's track hits, everyone goes wild!

I love Cosmo but I think a 10 hour Cosmo set is to long. I think dj sets should be limited to 2 hours-ish and live sets from 3 to 4 hours long. With psytrance tracks being 8 minutes long, 1 1/2 hours is too short and you can't get a real feel for that person's style. I think that most djs find out who is playing after them and then have a track similar to their style, so they can easily continue the progression

i'm gonna have to disagree...30 seconds inbetween sets would kill a dancefloor....people don't have to beatmatch to mix, you can mix ambient outro to ambient intro and during that time i've noticed people clap and stuff but no silence..especially 30 seconds...you know how long 30 seconds of silence is at a party???? like..at least a minute lol            WARNING: The Reality Master General has determined that Mr. Vomit may significantly alter your reality. I'm pretty sure it's 30 seconds

+1 for small pauses, thank the person who just played and welcome the new. Common courtesy.
