hi i've heard in a mailing list about this tool: a dj who works with vynil and wants to scatch his mp3 library, can get this thing and do it - you can play the mp3s as if they were on vynil.
anybody heard/tried it ?!?!?
check the site www.stantonmagnetics.com
BOM!
p.s. this thing's software is available for Linux/BeOS only (at the start) !! |

Well.. I heard something about this... but I don't know if this thing really works... maybe on the future, but not now... on the other hand, I prefer my Technics MkII and my "real vinyls"!!! =o) And of course, my cd's and my Cdj100... rox! But I understand that this is a revolutionary idea...
Waiting for the next! =o) |

new details: with that system you don't use special turntables /mixer: you use your own. you get 2 special dubplates (vynils) with timecode on them. there is a special box connected to USB and to both turntables and the mixer which does the trick of playing the mp3/wav/special fs format in the pitch of the vynil. you can kikstart, scratch etc the files as if you're mixing vynil. and you can mix in real vynil, of course.
this way: you don't have to go everywhere with tons of vynil - only 2 special plates and your laptop.
fu*k this sounds like a commercial :)
BOM, hope to see this thing in action soon in israel! |
