Despite we think the beliefs of a person can show a bit of its personality, we could be wrong!
...politics should be left out of the forum, IMHO. As well as religions, or ...whatever!

Meanwile, Kitnam... go for it bro'...
Hope I can help in some way!

finally:
- it will be a closed community
- it will be not easy to get access
- all signed artists will get a login

What about the newcomers like me, not already signed, who wanna be part of this

@Kitnam... yeah, I knew about the German translation; I love things like that - words within words!

I've checked on WHOIS though and all the TANZ domains are taken... any other ideas?

I'm in the process of setting up www.trance.org again. It will be hosted by a friend who is a security expert and has free bandwdith. The server will be running FreeBSD with PhP, MySQL and all the other standard stuff. I can setup tanz.trance.org or www.trance.org/tanz or whatever if people are interested.

I will be setting up a forum on there whatever happens so it could just be a section of that forum with its own front-end and hostname. Whatever people think is handy ...

As you might have gathered, I like the idea.

- it will have an open area to anyone. (forum, contacts, business-FAQ, tips)

i am no friend of the idea, that the labels will be able read and comment the ranks there. the main idea was, not to allow them to join the "artist-thing" completly, and also to identify everyone carefully who wants to join. we dont want fakes there and (important...) we want to feel the artists saved and protected and a complete open community would turn this rule ad absurdum.
if there is any good solution out there, feel free to tell me please.

I don't really think it being (relatively) open should be a problem. I think it should be members only but everyone can become a member. I mean the content shouldn't show up if someone just does a casual google search about a label but anyone that is really interested in the topic can join and read everyone's comment about a label/promoter etc.

This also means that people have to be a little bit carefull about what they write. They have to come up with real reasons and explanations because they know that the label/promoter can respond. It will stop people posting non-sense just because they are in a bad mood or something.

In the long run things will even out anyway. If every artists that is booked by a certain label/promoter gives a bad review, people can figure out themselves that these people might not be trustworthy. On the other hand if a promoter has 20 positive comments and one artist gives a negative, people can also figure out that the artists might just be lying or that there was some kind of miscommunication etc ...

As for identy, if this site starts rolling, there should be enough artists arround that know other artists to quickly find out if someone isn't who they claim they are ...

These kind of things usualy sort themselves out.

Also there will be artists who are also part of a label management team and a strict 'no labels/promoters' policy would mean they would be unable to join...

Still sounds like a very cool idea... Trance Artists Networking Zone... yeah!           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Hello dudes...
I am very late, I had to study different things and I am out of time becaue of another big project, please dont mind! but I am not finally much into PHP and such a forum needs to get worked with this for sure. I have the webspace and the URL too, We need people who are good with webcoding-knowlege and want to get a serious thing out of that. @Undertow maybe we can join our forces.

Everyone here who wants to join this project and is able to help us at its birth and moderation is welcome to join, post here directly or email me: mantik@amstart.de

We gonna make this moving!
